I have heard that our new gov is going to do reprivatisation ...

what means Polish people expeled form East in 45 will get some money for their properies there ...

this 10 000 Jews will get some money for properties they left after WWII (maybe szmata will get sth and will be nicer)

Polish people who have lost their properties because commie regime (enforced by Russia) decided that they are enemy of system or whatever ... are going to get some money ... (my family was confiscated three times because they were potenial thread ... )

money will come from privatisation of national companies ...

(of course we are not discussing about Germans )

as to citizenship ... why not ? ... if their ansestors were Polish citizens ( as well as I know they get it in the same way as other people whose ansestors were Polish citizens so simply nothing is going to change in this case)

What I want to add, and what is important it is because our economy is stronger and we are able to do it for our citiznens ...

If I were Polish, I would be embarassed by this thread. So much hatred over one news article. Don't worry. Jews don't want to come back to Poland. We have our own country now and we don't want yours.

I live in Israel and I know many people whose grandparents were from Poland. I know of only one who reclaimed his family's property. And that only happened when he got a bill from the Krakow Municipality for back taxes on his property from 1946.

Poles have been worrying about Jews returning and taking back their plundered homes ever since the end of the Holocaust, when they murdered returning survivors. Maybe this sensitivity is the result of a guilty conscience.

it would be never happen if Poland had been free ...

as to me there is one noticable fact rich Poles and rich Jews were in the same horrible situation under the commie regime ... we should notice that poor Jews were making great carer in commie regime the same as poor Poles ... it isnt so easy case. Situation changed ... durring WWII there was confrontanion between German and our races ... durring commie time between rich and poor ... there were thousends of rich Poles killed because of some decissions made in moscov ...

and the fact is that you will participate in reprivatization the same as Poles who were robbed by commies...

just read what I posted before

This is my family from Wolyn, Poland. We have until Dec. 2008 to put our claims in. What hurt the most was the way our families just vanished from the map. I do not speak Polish as I was 1st born from Poland in USA. Talk about being denied by two countries. USA were telling us to go back to Poland and Poland was not even able to communicate with us. Well Poland I am here if you wondered. I also questioned my father why he is not Ukrainian seeing this is where he was born? LOL Carol

Thanks I am LMAO still. I am Roman Catholic but here in the States in High School we used to joke, What are you going to do when you get out of school? Answer, become Jewish.

Let face it they stick together and financally back each other. This is why they can grow and take over neighborhoods. Look at how many Catholic in Poland were killed WW2, never heard of them because the Jewish excluded them and they never spoke out.

In my "The Black Book of Poland" by Putnan 1942 I have a list of the deaths taking place,1939-41 because they were trying to destroy Polish. It's also on line and a great book of facts.

Remember the ND party from the 30s. This was before the German occupation.

This from Wikipedia:

In the newly independent Second Polish Republic, the ND was represented first by Związek Ludowo-Narodowy (the National Populist Union), and from 1928 by Stronnictwo Narodowe (the National Party). A chief characteristic of ND policies was their emphasis on Polonization of minorities: ND politicians such as Dmowski and Stanisław Grabski contributed to the failure of Piłsudski's proposed Międzymorze federation and of the alliance with the Ukrainian leader Symon Petlura, and to the alienation of Poland's ethnic minorities. After Piłsudski's May 1926 Coup d'État, the ND found itself in constant opposition to his Sanation regime. To fight the Sanation movement, the ND created Obóz Wielkiej Polski (the Great Poland Camp).

Simultaneously the ND emphasized its anti-Semitic program, aimed at excluding Jews from Polish social and economic life and ultimately at pushing them to emigrate from Poland[citation needed]. Antisemitic actions and incidents ? boycotts, demonstrations, even pogroms ? organized or inspired by National Democrats mounted in the 1930s[citation needed]. The most notorious actions were taken by radical young NDs who formed the fascist-inspired, antisemitic National Radical Camp (ONR) [2]

The Polish numerus clausus law was passed in 1923 but not introduced until 1937 (one of the League of Nations' few sucesses). Also in 1937 both the association of Polish doctors and the association of Polish lawyers introduced rules limiting new membership to Christians only. From 1936 onwards many government jobs were not available to Jews.

I think you can safely say that Karma has come to bite you in the you know where. I can't think of anywhere or any country that polish people go and after a certain amount of time may claim citizenship :) Can you ? lol

Gosh, let me see, which countries do I know of where Polese I personally know have gone and then claimed citizenship after a certain amount of time? Hmm, the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Finland, Switzerland, Kuwait, France, Cyprus, most places I've been to actually....

And...
That shows that Polish people didn't become hostile to Jews as a result of the german occupation or any other excuse. They were hostile before that. Some reasons:

a- they saw the jews as competition, and b-because the jews were demonized by the polish church, and c- because polish nationalism was based on ethnicity which exccluded jews.

Just look at the comments in this forum to see irrational, paranoid attitudes toward jews even though there are practically none left in Poland.

Well sir... using "anti-semitism" as offensive weapon is nothing new for us but next time be more careful because you may easily die from the weapon you use...

You were so kind to remind us some things from the 30s, so now maybe let's take a look at something from modern times...

Do you want me to go on ?

You quoted articles about meir Kahana, who was considered an extreist in Israel and was therefore banned from the parliament. Anyone can find a quote to justify any argument. That's meaningless. I'm talking about mainstream polish political parties in the 30s. Do you deny that the ND were antisemitic? They were very open about being against the jews.

But that's in the past. Let's talk about today: Why do some Poles (and you seem to be one of them) hate jews today when we are no longer living in poland and have no role at all in polish politics or economy? Isn't that paranoia?

You quoted articles about meir Kahana

Also about the party which is in Knesset and in coalition government and about the former PM.

Why do some Poles (and you seem to be one of them) hate jews today

Because we are evil. Yawn...

Although I don't think that many Poles have problem with Jews, many from those you have is provoked by Jewish internal (Michnik and company, "if you disagree with us, you are anti-Semitic" attitude) and external (JWC, huge compensation demands plus revisionist comments) forces. A Jew, Normal Finkelstein wrote some books on this issue.
