Hundreds of Polish guests arrived in Hungary to join the national holiday

At the invitation of the "Civil Összefogás Fórum" some 700 Polish guests arrived in Hungary to celebrate the national holiday with Hungarians. The trip has been organized by the newspaper Gazeta Polska, and its Club Network as well as the "Civil Összefogás Fórum".

However, due to the severe weather conditions and the declared snow emergency all official events have been canceled for the whole day. Organizers of the trip, however, quickly rescheduled the programs and arranged indoor activities for the Polish guests, which include museum tours and visiting the parliament.

That sounds nice. :-) It's interesting how many similarities the histories of both countries seem to have. Yet again, this could be said about many different nations.

Italy hated the so-called, "Polish Mafia" during John Paul's reign. With a purple passion as my grandmother would say.

I think it was due to support showed by Poles to Orban government and Hungarians.

Gazetta Polska has a somewhat patchy track record. Although given the way the current govt of Hungary is acting, there's not exactly a shortage of people there who think along the same lines as Gazetta Polska loyalists.

Because around that newspaper gathers people who are in opposition to current gov and are mostly anti-EU, suspicion of what going on in politics, non-PC - well somewhat like a tea party movement with all differences in circumstances.

Although they are more than happy to accept money from the EU (and from the Polish government, of course).


Only like the tea party in terms of being ******* crazy. GP readers favour more state control and more state spending (on them to be exact), which of course requires higher taxes: the exact opposite of what the tea party want.

BTW: Hungary is a place that is very very much worth a visit: excellent wine, good food and friendly people, plus some cracking architecture. OK, the language is incomprehensible, but you can get a return flight from Warsaw to Budapest for $33 (including taxes, and it's from the airport in Warsaw) and if you drink 30 beers (or maybe 20 glasses of wine), you'll save more than the flight costs!

I'm sure that GP readers will oblige Harry and post here in masses to confirm his words.

What does it all matter when official Poland betrayed friendship with Hungary, on the behalf of closer Polish-Anglo ties. When Anglos say that something must, it must.

After all, its understandable. We all know what gets those who don`t obey to Anglos.

I weep for the time when venerable Poland was able to side with Her friends and brothers. Sadly, today`s Poland is isolated from us. Still, I look forward in better future, when would Poland again enjoy and share joy with us.
