The Polish film director Andrzej Wajda has died.
A true artist and the most well-known Polish post WWII film director. He will be missed....
My favorites (apart from Ashes and Diamonds) included Kanał (Sewer) the Panny z Wilka (the Maids of Wilko) and Człowiek z Żelaza (Man of Iron) I know that Man of Marble is technically a better film but there's something about the second movie that's... intoxicating, capturing a moment when change seems reachable and impossibly distant at the same time.

That's for sure:-) He and Andrzejewski were the two toweing figures of post-war Polish cinema.

Just wondering whether or not anyone here's ever heard of or seen this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it's gritty, hand-held camera documentary feel and felt I was actually in post-War Warsaw.
