I tell you something, this kid is lucky that my dad wasn't around it when it happened, he would kick some butt for sure and if the parents came in between, they would get some whipping too.

It occurred to me that maybe the cat was treated well prior to the incident and was too shocked to react !Cats can be pretty flexible with ability to defend itself !

Animals are just animals. Generally predictable, interact well with people, maybe too trusting. They don't deserve that treatment.

But some animals are viscious, like bears for example. I am terribly afraid of bears *eek* I won't even take a hike in fear of meeting up with one. Just because you are stupid like an animal, doesn't mean the whole human race is stupid.

But they generally aren't predators of humans. They would probably keep their distance, given the option. Well, maybe not polar bears...

I don't believe people can be incarnated as animals. Not that I don't think animal abuse is bad, but I find that people don't need to worry about animal abuse as much as they do when there are humans in the world who are being abused. I am actually an animal lover, I have two dogs that sleep in my bed every night, and I love horses and even some cats but you have to draw the line somewhere, an animal is an animal and they are not as important as human beings.

Anytime I hear about animal abuse, I wish there was a law to do the same to the supposedly 'human' who mistreats animals. We are not talking about bears an lions here. It is up to us - people - to respect them, and stay away from their path. Wild animals are not pets.

But, in this case, a cat...poor cat. I chose not to see the clip, I can only imagine the human animalistic kid doing it. I blame the parents, as somebody above said, children are not born bad. It up to the parents to teach the children respect for other people, animals, nature..you name it.

My cat must be above average. I'm 185 cm and 105 kilo and he enjoys abusing me, as the scars show.

I think the blame here lays mainly on the kid filming, he was what 15 years old? he obviously enticed the 3 year old to throw the cat around for the camera.

Luckily for the cat the three year old didnt have the strength or coordination to inflict any real damage.

I think part of it is because the body chemicals released during this activity makes the meat more digestable and tastier (it's why dogs for eating are hanged, I believe)

Knowing this, I understand the calls of some of you on this forum to have the kids euthanised, cause it seems that whatever resocialisation or rehabilitation you throw at them, it'll never work,
