Wouldn't some people consider "Polack" a racist, offensive term?

None of them have yet seen fit to comment on the potential racism of polockjohnnys.com

So if one sausage vendor in Baltimore uses an offensive ethnic slur in his business name then it makes the term non-racist......

Polacks are of uncertain Slavic origin, who emigrated to the USA around 1900 or so - usually you can tell a real Polack by the fact that they're from peasant origin from around the Polish/Ukrainian borderland.

Real Polish people

they're among the most self depreciating people I know.

Please elaborate on this racial theory. What is it about Ruthenian peasant blood that makes Polish-Americans inferior yet self assertive? Did anscestral strumming of the balalaika harm Polish-American genetics? How much pure Polish blood do we need to have to warrant being designated by a term that is not universally considered an ethnic slur? Are there Polackatos, Polacktroons, etc?

Dude are you seriously mental!?!?? I don't think there is a more racist ass on this forum than you. You've got an obsession with Poles and Poles in America in particular what is it you weren't passed on the visa voucher.

I am asking Delphiandomine about his racial theory not endorsing it.

I don't think there is a more racist ass on this forum than you. You've got an obsession with Poles and Poles in America in particular what is it you weren't passed on the visa voucher.

I am a third generation Polish-American and this is a Polish discussion forum and as for "racist asses" your xenophobic assumption regarding visa vouchers puts you in their ranks not me. Learn to comprehend what you read before you make asinine accusations.

Indeed I am not a fan of this racist who calls Polish-Americans subhumans and by asking about the particulars of his dehumanizing theory I hoped to ridicule it. I thought this was obvious.

How much pure Polish blood do we need to have to warrant being designated by a term that is not universally considered an ethnic slur?

Ecstasy, imagination, and the unconscious are all convertible and synonymous terms for the primary source of poetry. They are the fruitage of the turmoil of the soul, due to the apparently forgotten memories in us of the emotional lives in all our ancestors. They represent also the impassioned activities of our logical and rational faculties, the sum of the views of life of the past. They emanate from the dream life of man, whether this occurs in the waking or sleeping state. They are the workings of the force we call inspiration.

Sorry for this, but I find this passage a fit diversion from the subject, yet connected with it in the sublime strains of Ruthenian peasant poetry.

I am a third generation Polish-American

Great, when are you coming to Poland to volunteer in our hospitals, schools, churches and more?

Or are you, just like all the other Polacks, going to leave that job to the fine Americans of non-Polish origin?

I officially advocate the use of the term "Polack-American" in order to avoid any sort of association with Polish people.

You already have a Polack thread: Polack/American Polonia/Plastic Pole "culture"
Please feel free to continue using it, rather than making the same point in other threads.

The only people who find subhuman intelligence jokes about Polish people popular are insecure low-lifes & Nazis who need to see other people denigraded so that they can feel better about their own ancestry.

You couldn't be more right. I think Bratwurst and Delphiadomine should be kicked off this forum. They provoke with their crude humor and we're supposed to take it? I only react to them. I try not to provoke. I have a life.

Anyways, the Krauts (and Ruski's) on here are surely low life, sub-humans, who have to feel "superior" to Poles by spreading lies. They are jealous that Poland is still Polish. Germany is a lost country. It is Northern Turkey. This country will die out eventually. It has to. I read somewhere that Germany has the highest proportion of male babies born with one testicle :) It may be a revelation. How are your nuts holding up Bratwurst? Or are you picking your nose? :)

Listen people, Germans know they have sinister minds. They are responsible for a lot of garbage in this world (namely themselves).

Yes, the point is that you very often talk the talk about Poland, but when it comes to coming here and actually helping us - naaah. You can't be bothered.

Tell you what - if every Polish American on this forum gave me $100 a month towards funding sport opportunities for children in Poland, I could do so much with the money.

The Irony in your post is strong, young Padawan ;)
If that is your understanding of "not provoking", I really would like to know how it looks when you try to provoke.

But to get to the original topic:
I never heard of Marek Fis before reading this thread. From what I saw in the posted videos, its not rally my humour and I don't think i missed a lot by not hearing of this before.

And yes, the humour is quite "intellectually undemanding" at times.
But so is a lot of humour (Toilet humour anyone?).

1. The "German Media" did not invent the figure of Marek Fis. Marek Fis "made" his stage persona all by himself and started doing stand-up all on his own. The idea to his polish alter ego was his idea, not the idea of "The German Media".

2. There are in fact many black Comedians who make fun of the "uncivilized African" stereotype.
Yes, even in Germany.
Just look up Dave Davis and his stage persona called "Motombo Umbokko" => dave-davis.de

3. If you want to, then I can easily find you some russian, czech, french, american or asian comedians working in Germany that have no problem making fun of their own country and portraying themself in a rather unfavorable light for the sake of comedy.

4. I never saw a Jewish Comedian working in Germany making fun about Jewish stereotypes. You are right about that at least.
I could name you several Jewish Americans who do so however.

Most jokes about Germans make use of the good old Nazi stereotypes.
Hell, in the UK a German Comedian called Henning Wehn has quite some success milking those stereotypes and playing a dull German who wishes back the "glorious days of the Fatherland" and thinks partying has to involve goose stepping.

But in your mind beeing portrayed as unintelligent is worse than beeing portayed as a murdering racist Lunatic?
Really? You must have some really strange priorities in that case.

I am personally less offended when getting called stupid, as I am when someone calls me a Nazi.

You don't have to like those jokes, but the manner in which some people here are responding makes it look like you are just waiting for an opportunity to feel offended and fly into uncontrolled rage.

No I believe he was REACTING to this anti-Polish propaganda and a certain German defending it.

1. The "German Media" did not invent the figure of Marek Fis

That may be true that the German media didn't invent Marek Fis, but don't you think they may have dropped some hints, as to what "he could do" to be a big German media star? But lets say the German media didn't drop any hints to Marek Fis. Why do you think unscrupulous Marek Fis decided to make himself appealing to a German audience by portraying himself as an animal? Even going as far as simulating a bestiality act?

russian, czech, french, american or asian comedians working in Germany

Its true that just about every nation or group of people get portrayed somewhere in an unflattering way. I do not deny that. But can you give me examples of these groups or others being portrayed as animals or simulating bestiality?

At the end of the day, it's the media executives who DETERMINE what is allowed to air to an audience or not. Just because somebody wants to say or do something negative that might get ratings, it doesn't mean its OK. For example here in the US we don't allow on public broadcasting, nudity, ethnic or racial slurs like the N-word or curse words just because there may people who don't mind going on TV doing and saying those things.

4. I never saw a Jewish Comedian working in Germany making fun about Jewish stereotypes.

Yes there is a good reason why the German media would not let a self-hating Jew provide anti-Jewish imagery for a German audience to have fun with. Its because of the sensitive history between Germans and Jews for obvious reasons. The Germans should also apply this to the Polish people since if the Germans won the war, they would have annihilated all of the Poles right after the Jews.

Most jokes about Germans make use of the good old Nazi stereotypes.

Most jokes (but not all) about Germans may refer to the stereotype of Germans "being Nazis" but they touch on the most MILDEST of Nazi imagery. Like examples you gave. The Germans are "dull" Germans "goose step". WOWWWWWW!!!! That's so degrading!!!!!! LOL!

Since we all agree that the Nazi German stereotype is that of Germans being Nazi pshycopathic, murdering beasts, WHERE is that imagery??

Can you show me some imagery of Germans acting like beasts and showing imagery of the following:
-A German Drinking blood for fun
-A German saying he likes ketchup because it reminds him of all the blood Germans spilled
-A German car using blood for windshield whiper fluid
-A German joking about using blood instead of water to wash his hands
-A German who urinates blood
-A German with oversized fangs
-A German who has wild blood shot eyes and is drooling
-A German simulating a bestiality act like Marek Fis was
-A Beast German who has long knuckle dragging arms with blood on them
-A German with devil horns on his head with one horn the label "GERMan" and the other horn "Pride"
-A German with claws or tentacles for hands to show how evil he is
-A German eating pieces of human flesh like pork chops
-A German poking out an eye of somebody and using it as a ping pong ball and then eating it
-A German Laughing while throwing babies up in the air and stabbing them with pitch forks (like in Shindlers list)
-A German engaging in dialog like "Well as a GERMan I need to feel better about myself now so I think I should start killing some Jews and Poles now"

-A German acting bezerk screaming and yelling at the top of his lungs for no apparent reason
-A German saying "Ya there is a good veason why they call us GERMans. Its because we are a parasitic predator people"
Etc etc
WHERE is the imagery on these TV shows you talk of Germans looking and acting like Psycho Nazi Beasts??
Where is the German Nazi BEAST imagery??

You don't have to like those jokes, but the manner in which some people here are responding makes it look like you are just waiting for an opportunity to feel offended and fly into uncontrolled rage.

I would agree with you that people shouldn't be offended at all negative imagery about their group of people. I am not. I gave an example of a Polish American TV character named Andy Sipowicz who was portrayed as an alcoholic who had problems with his dysfunctional Polish American family. Sipowicz is also not a very attractive man in appearance. Nevertheless I was not offended at that character since his character was at least BALANCED with other positive qualities and his negative qualities at least seemed possible for a human being to have.

However, this Marek Fis is doing things for a German audience that CROSSES the line. He is portraying a negative image of a group of people doing something that no rational human would ever do. Like acting like an animal and performing bestiality acts.

WTF?? You're saying 'the media' give professional advice to performers?

Are you serious? You mean when an actor performs in the TV media function of actor or entertainer, you don’t think the media bosses don’t give him advice or hints as to what direction he should have his act go? But if you read what I said carefully, I just suggested that it was a possibility and was not necessarily a definite thing here.

Do you think the performing arts should be controlled by someone, and rules applied? How? By whom?

You don't think there should be any standards of what is shown on public broadcasting?

By Whom? Who do you think? By the people allowing the TV footage to air. You do realize that TV media companies in most civilized countries have some type of standards of things that can be aired or not aired.

I think the rules that should be applied here is that of common sense. I think Nazi German imagery of Polish people having subhuman intelligence should not be in any TV media. Especially German TV imagery. Do you think that's too much for me to ask??

On another note, I notice Johnny you seem to be sensitive to whenever I mention Jews or Jews and Poles together for some reason. Why is that?
