How do I get a shy Polish man to make a move?

Hi I'm English and I've been working a few shifts with a lovely Polish man. It's clear he likes me but he's incredibly shy or unsure of himself (not sure which). I'm not a forward person and don't date much so I really don't want to ask him out first, I'm quite old fashioned and would prefer him to.

Everytime I think he's going to say something about going out he goes as red as a tomato and stutters a lot. Does anyone have any advice? I'm only asking on here because of cultural differences I know he's a man just like any other. Thank you!!

Forget that crap. Do what a Polish woman would do. If he doesn't make the first move then make it yourself.

Exactly the word I was going to use. "Old-fashioned" sounds like a euphemism for "cowardly".

Why ever would you think there is something not right in asking him out yourself? Or you could wait forever until he builds up the courage to ask you first. Both of you need to take a course in assertiveness training.

No. Polish women can be very up front about what they want.

If you are both shy, this could turn into a long courtship. Take the bull by the horns and tell him you need help fixing the leg of your bed. Alternatively, ask him what he's doing at the weekend and suggest going somewhere together. He'll probably be as delighted as he is relieved.

I'm a Polish woman, the only graceful way for you to propose anything is along 'friends' lines. But honestly, do you want to go out with the coward?
