I'm glad it's not just me. This bit "(...) employers can hire Polish women (...)" is particularly disturbing... but I'm sure "trixie123" and "GuyLondonUk" will tell us otherwise.

Tl/dr: - some Airline pilot wants a woman that he can treat like a self-sustaining house cat. He fears that his own indiscretions while on the road will one day catch up to him, and thus wants to cage a life.
