Polish stereotypes of other nationalities!?

TIT: leveled down our Warsaw

How did Warsaw looked before it was rebuilt? I've heard it looks pretty much like any other communist city - +/- the specific culture elements - since it was rebuilt by the Soviets, the same grey sad blocks and buildings, but how did it look before it was leveled down? Were any parts of it preserved?

TIT, fair enough but use wink marks. They are universally accepted as a tongue-in-cheek signal.

You don't count sarcasm, TIT (bez a) :) Sorry but I've heard some Poles really let loose and it isn't nice. Leave it for the generation that lived it and even then in small doses.

I'm not gonna second guess people so it looks like you meant it unless you use wink marks.

Partyzant, I don't watch tv but you seem to, that's how you know so much about Germany, LOL ;) ;)

Partyzant AK: I'm 22 .

So you're younger than me. Masz jeszcze czas żeby zmądrzeć :)

Partyzant AK: And yes I know some germans.

And? Do you hate them?

Partyzant AK: And I know what I'm talking about, cause propably you have no idea what is happening now in germany.. Nazi parties and all that stuff.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've read some articles. But there were and probably still are neonazis in Poland too :) I never could understand how it's possible :) There even was a neonazi girl at my school :)

As far as I know there's some problem with memory in the Eastern part of Germany. But that's probably a problem of all former communist countries. We have problems with dealing with our past. Look at Russia, for example.

Partyzant AK: We can't forget or we will have another '39

History should be remembered and be a lesson for us all. It won't guarantee us it won't happen again (look at the Balkans, for example) but I agree it's important. But why hate? Do you need hate to remember?

Partyzant AK: Learn more and turn off your TV.

I don't watch much TV, to be honest :) I can make up my mind on my own.

The Polish image of a Scot is one of being stingy but let me dispel the stereotype here and give you some free advice.

A is effectively 1, e.g a chair, a studio etc. Then we have 2 chairs, 2 studios etc. Singular with a and an, then plurals (regular and irregular).

Sarcasm, advice, news, information are not typical. Pieces of advice, words of advice, for example. You could say 'a sarcastic' but it would have to be followed by sth like person or remark, e.g a sarcastic remark because you can count the remarks that people make.

Please ask me for further advice if you want. I hope I have, at least in small part, dispelled the stereotype ;)

Poles provided some important help to the Allies throughout the war. Polish soldiers fought on land, on the seas and in the air. Notable was the service of the Polish Air Force, not only in the Allied victory in the Battle of Britain but also the subsequent war in the air.

One of the reasons why English hate polish people, they should be grateful for our contribution toward their victory, but they do not really like to be appreciative to polish people whom they perceive inferior.

Sydney:
How about English lol?
Hate Poles as much as whole European identity idea.

Those in London like to stab

I respectfuly disagree with your opinion. It is full of generalization. I do not believe that all people in England hate us Poles. It is your democratic right to express your opinion- a right that you have, in part thanks to the sacrifices of countless Poles fighting for democracy, freedom, social justice, and human dignity throught history.
