hay guys ....few days back i read a thread as foreigners using polish girls for papers.so i got impression that polish dont like asians specifically.and now i read a thread in which the debate was on pakistani coming to poland for work or etc.

i was quite amazed to see,so many polish mates were speaking on behalf of pakistanis with their mates.as encouraging them to come to come poland for business work or study.so accept my thanks as a pakistani for being understood and supported by most people out there.and speaking good for my country men.thank u all.

I'm under the impression that BBman meant - go to any country other than Poland.

Other than that, there aren't that many places that accept pakistanis with open arms nowadays ( UK is cutting down on pakistani immigration ) and Poland will soon follow suit.

In the meantime, could you care to explain why is it that it is always pakistani guys that come over, not the girls?

Their chains aren't long enough for them to leave the kitchen in Kandahar, is that it?

The Poles are smart, they want all you Pakistanis coming to Poland to take their jobs, so the Poles can go to the UK and take your jobs in the corner shops. Poles are very smart...

Just a little problem with that reasoning.

Oddly enough Pakistanis living in the UK find it very difficult to move anywhere else permanently. I don't know why, since many of them remind us on a weekly basis how horrible a country we are and so on.

Still, they fail to leave.

I don't see them moving to Poland anytime soon, all the people so desperate for a Polish visa are just their cousins from Pakistan who missed out on the gravy train to Blightey.

Exactly so the Pakistanis come on the Passport trail to Poland and allow the Poles to take the jobs that are formally reserved for friends and family.

Take that race card and shove it up your ass, pakistani boy.

Nobody here is worried about anything other than pakistanis blatantly breaking immigration laws, moving into EU illegaly or by way of a visa scam usually in Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary or some other Eastern European state where immigration offices are manned by incompetent and corrupt officials, then "moving on" to pastures greener --> usually not far away from London town.

And since you'll probably claim visa scams never have anything to do with pakistanis here's HM's government's take on the matter:

why is it that it is always pakistani guys that come over, not the girls?

Because the girls are too docile and forced to marry some in Pakistan itself and the husband (as Muslim men can marry I think 7 times) will come to Poland and marry again and then ground his wife in Pakistan itself!!!!

Thats not fair! Is it?

On top I wonder how many paki knows how to speak in English! In UK they were already so poor at it and stayed in their 'camp' so how are they gona manage to stay in a country where the official language is Polish!

Most here have no opinion; they have not yet met anyone from Pakistan. No reason why someone shouldn't come here and open a business - there are plenty of opportunities especially in the bigger cities.

Jon, since i live in a city with around 200 thousand Pakistanis (and it is not even in Pakistan!) I hope you will allow me to express my opinion and not delete my commentary summarily like you do. And if you read it until the end you will see that this is not off topic, so hold your fingers instead of delete everything.

My ex driver was from Pakistan. One day when he was driving me to work we heard the news about an acid attack made by a Pakistani husband against his wife.

Then the following dialogue happened:
Driver: Oh the media ever portraits Pakistan in a bad bad way criticizing. Woman have lots of rights there. We even had female prime-minister.

Me: You mean Benazir Bhutto? The one that was assassinated? I dont think that a murdered female prime minister is a good example of woman's rights.

Driver: But she provocated to be murderer. If she behaved, nothing would happen.

And that is what i think is the main problem in the views that Poles (and most western societies) have with Pakistanis. They are probably one of the most brutal and violent societies of the world when we talk about woman and non-Muslim rights.

In the head of my ex driver, a woman misbehave is a justification to kill her. And this is not an exception, just google "Woman stoning Pakistan" and you will see how frequent this is.

In a country like Poland, were woman are strong, independent and they CONQUERED their right to freedom fighting alongside with men on the horrors of war, it is just UNTHINKABLE a man subjugate and treat a woman in that way. One of the small gestures that make me see how strong are Polish woman is that my girlfriend EVER splits the bill with me when we go out. EVER. This is something that i just saw before in the south of Brazil (which have a strong Slavic influence btw).

So yeah, maybe a Pakistani can adapt to Poland. But all this traditional, sexist and violent mindset that woman needs to be disciplined by man needs to go to the garbage even before he pass imigration. Or he will have a bad time in Poland.

So what do your experiences with taxi drivers in the developing world have to do with the OP's question about how people are seen in Poland?

For the record, I've never heard anyone say anything bad - only good things.

Dont reduce intentionously my text to a driver experience.

And in the last 4 paragraphs i explained about how this experience (among many others) showed to me why pakistanis usually clash culturally with the free modern civilization in terms of respect to woman.

It is all written there, in the last 4 paragraphs of my text. So dont come with your empty and overused accusations that i am off topic. For everyone here this is becoming lame.

Dont reduce intentionously my text to a driver experience.

You have reduced an entire country to a driver experience actually.

Answering the actual topic, for the most part, a Pakistani in Poland is like any other foreigner in Poland. Most Poles that have not travelled have never interacted with anyone from Pakistan before so there might some shy curiosity but that's all. There is no reason why a Pakistani investor cannot successfully start a business in Poland.

Pakistani in Poland is like any other foreigner in Poland.

Nah, it surely is not, a lot of Poles worked in the UK had a contact with them over there and now came back to Poland with certain opinion.

Those who have not travelled know those have travelled and they find out about Pakistanis from them.

And you have interacted with them and determined so? Dude I live in Poland and the average person here knows very little about Pakistan other than what is in school curriculum.

I own and run a business that offers made-to-order B2B products and services in Poland, and it is not an online business, so in short I know a lot of people, plus over 1000 that follow me on LinkedIn.

In terms of Pakistanis, I know a few as well, and every one of them is in either engineering or IT, and they are all tax paying and productive individuals. I am sure there are exceptions, I just don't know any of them.

In general, there is no established negative (or otherwise) stereotype of Pakistanis in Poland, despite the best efforts of some people to state otherwise.
