doubt it, you'll need proof of ID, proof of address and they'll prob do a credit check on your polish bank account.

How come you've no PESEL, I thought everyone had to have it?

I got mine on a mate's company. Business tariffs are cheaper, he offsets it against tax - win-win.

Sales cold-calls once a week from the provider are a bit of a pain, but it's a price worth paying...

There is no problem, just pick an operator, their demands are similar: Passport or other ID, Karta pobytu (for non-EU citizens) or registration of stay (EU citizens), some require work permit, some require to show them some paid invoices (e.g. monthly utilities). In all cases you need also a registered address in Poland.

Here's how it is roughly:
Play:
1. Passport or other ID,
2. Residence Card/Registration of stay
3. Address in Poland (zameldowanie)
Orange:
-same as above plus:
4. Work Permit or work contract or
5. Last invoice(s) for utilities, phone bill, tv, electricity, etc. or
6. Deposit: 500 PLN with blocked abroad or 2000 PLN no foreign calls blocked
Era
1. Residence card (non-EU)/Registration of stay (EU)
2. Credit card
3. ID
Plus
1. Residence card (non-EU)/Registration of stay (EU)
2. ID
3. Address in Poland (zameldowanie)

You can opt out of those and they will stop calling after being told to do so (or at least both Era and Plus will).

Can i not get it on my passport ?

You can but they may well ask for a large sum of money as a deposit.
