Inappropriately Touching a Baby - What are the cultural Norms in Poland?

I was recently shocked by a visit to my friend's place. She was changing the baby, when Dziadek came over 'oh so cute baby!' and kiss-kiss-kiss.... little kisses right on the baby's Penis!!!

This type of behavior is disgusting to me and all my friends who I mentioned this to (including Polish friends who did not think it was a normal Polish thing, and were also disgusted).

Have you ever heard of similar affectionate actions towards babies or children in Poland? What are the polish norms regarding lovey-dovey touchey-feeley behaviour with children? Where is the line drawn?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this, but the only conclusion I can come to is that Dziadek is a super-creepy molester.... :/

Are you completely sure he kissed the pen? You'd have to heve a really good angle to be sure he wasn't kissing a belly right above or tighs.

Kisses on the baby's bottom are quite common but kisses on the penis are a bit strange.
For the grandpa to be a molester he would have to have sexual pleasure and from what you say it doesn't seem so. Maybe he just never thought of it that way? When you are normal it's absolutely obvious to you that there's nothing sexy in a kid. It might have never crossed his mind that someone may see it that way. Especially since he is probably from the era when pphilia wasn't on ppl mind.

In some cultures they do that but I've never heard of it in Poland. Doesn't sound a sexual thing though. Certainly nothing to do with Sir Jimmy (about whom there is no hard evidence of wrongdoing anyway...).

There might not be HD video recordings of Savile abusing vulnerable people over forty years, but the sheer volume and weight of witness and (ok, alleged) victim evidence is staggering. Where definitely you are not going around groping children by their private parts or kissing children there. Are you 100% certain that you are not mistaken? Maybe grandpa is blind?

On the other hand they could be progressives, a family ahead of times,and you are just a conservative type.

I don't believe the story, I think at most he kissed the baby's tummy (and her dirty imagination did the rest).

I would have ended his life right then and there if that was one of my boys. No questions asked and you'd even probably get away with it in court with a plea of temporary insanity becasue of what he did. Or the charge would be put down to manslaughter and you'd be given a suspended sentence.
