your price was for private? :D Actually white fillings are classed as private, but it depends on the dentist...I have friends that pay well over the odds for a check-up and polish and scale compared to what I pay..thats why most of them registered at mine ;0) Private dentist are a rip off, my dentist is excellent and does private work at a reasonable price...

YES!! :):):)
I do appreciate your intelligence.

British NHS has its Polish counterpart called NFZ which fully refunds simple white fillings.
White fillings light-cured cost about 70 PLN = 13 quid, with the exception of minors till 18 years of age.

ALL white fillings are classed as cosmetic..therefore charged for..as far as I'm aware, they still do the silver fillings which are free of charge for those who dont have to pay for dental charges UK, but I couldn't swear to that as its been so long since I had a tooth filled....But, I'm sure dental treatment in Poland is more reasonable whether it be private or state funded, its just not regulated here in the UK YET...Its currently being looked at because some dentists are lying cheating scum...They're charging for private treatment that its actually covered under the NHS...

Do you know what would have already happened if it was true?

UK and others would have been invaded by 36 million instead of 2.

MAN is that a ridiculous thing to say.

I don't know what keeps me here anymore.

Ooops.

Beer in pubs:

Krakow - 5 PLN = £1

Edinburgh - £3.10

How about a full car service, i think i paid something in the region of 200 PLN in Poland as apposed to about £80 in the UK, PL still looses on the price to wage ratio but its still cheaper pound for pound.

How come do I take all your revelations with such a big grain of salt, can you tell me? :):):):)
a full service should include:-
tyre pressures including the spare
all the levels checked and topped up if neccessary
oil and filter
all filters changed oil fuel air pollen
antifreeze strength tested
wheels off and brakes checked cleaned and adjusted if neccessary
full under vehicle inspection of exhaust, joints and bushes etc.
wheel checked for play and wheel bearings or worn ball joints
spark plugs changed
battery tested
road test to determine any driving faults if any ie clutch bad tyre wheel bearing etc.
all lights and washers and wipers are checked
How much? all depends where you go our garage would charge approximately £170-£180 main dealer would be a lot more-it all depends on a garages labour rate really
.

In Poland, car service ranges from 59 zlotys to 499 PLN = £10 - £100.
feuvert.pl/uslugi/pakiety-przegladow.html

In UK, from £119.00 to £240.00.

a full service should include:

hahahaha, check your tire pressure... hahahahaha
I dont know how it is in England but in Poland if you're stupid enough to pay for something like that, here is what'll happen:

you drop off your car and are told this "full service" should take two hours
you come back after two hours, not finished, another hour or so
you come back two hours later, still not done, one more hour
this time you call, should be done any second
you call just before closing, still not done, but tomorrow morning the car will be ready
you call tomorrow morning, "almost ready" you hear
you call a few hours later and finally are told the car is ready
you show up, but hear that the full service cost a bit more because "xyz" was difficult to check/replace/inspect, you pay, because youre a big enough idiot to pay for something like that

few months later, when your car is falling apart, you hear at another mechanic

"why didnt you 1. check your brake/oil/coolant level 2. change your spark plugs/filter?" or even " why did you replace your original parts with these cheap knockoffs?". turns out nothing was done at that "full service check", or even worse, parts were stolen off your car.

Man (or woman, whatever), After reading these musings, I must say you are nuts! How often does it happen to you? :):):):)

There are hundreds, if not thousands of things. :):):)
Lets list some then. Strawberries

Sure, strawberries are important.

However, even more important are tuition fees.

London University, Queen Mary, medicine - £9,000.
Queen Mary will be charging per year from September 2012 for Home and EU students (see our International section for International students tuition fees) for undergraduate entry from 2012 and we will put into place a significant package of scholarships and bursaries to ensure access for all. A range of Government loans and grants is also available.

qmul.ac.uk/undergraduate/feesandfunding/2012tuitionfees/index.html

Warsaw Medical University, medicine: 0.000PLN = £0,000.

Isn`t it just great? :):):):)

PS. Higher education at renowned state universities in Poland is free.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of things. :):):)
Lets hear some of them then....
It basically scales down to scarcity and availability.

Oh, I see!

OK, let`s see.....

Cracow 3D Kid Film Festival, late 2011 or 2012 productions to see, each for 5 PLN - 1 quid.

how much does an avg. car cost in the UK vs. Poland?

Car prices are the same. The Poles buy second hand of the Germans. Some of the higher end German cars are slightly cheaper. Insurance int he UK is criminal and is high due to 'ambulance chasers' something that Poland hasn't got around to yet. In Poland car insurance is cheaper (about 1/4 of the cost) but they have more accidents, road deaths and cars stolen. Petrol is about 1.10 pounds a liter in Poland (compared to 1.40 in the UK), the UK also seems to have stricter laws regarding MOT's (in Poland you see so many death-traps on the road), the cost of tests/exams are more in the UK and the costs of fines etc are more.

So generally it is cheaper to run a car in Poland. But would you really want to drive in Poland. They only have 1 F1 driver and even he managed to hit a house!

Car prices are the same.

I didn't ask specifically about "in relation to income", but I think it's my next question.

In Poland car insurance is cheaper (about 1/4 of the cost) but they have more accidents, road deaths and cars stolen.

There's also the matter of what kind of insurance coverage you're getting. Insurance isn't insurance isn't insurance.

But would you really want to drive in Poland.

Bingo. I've always said that if my salary had been doubled while I lived in Poland, it wouldn't have really changed my lifestyle at all, but I guess that's a bit off topic.

Insurance in Poland is much cheaper and frankly - much better.

Try getting a Green Card for Serbia, Albania or Ukraine from a UK insurer. It's not going to happen. In Poland? Routine.

Indeed but my insurance here (same details age, experience etc) is 1/4 of the cost in the UK. Even though i would be less likely to have an accident or have my car stolen. In the UK its due to no-win solicitors, tax and greedy insurance companies. I wonder what would happen if they opened up the insurace market to foreign insurers in the UK?

Theatre tickets

Moliere play

You're just acting like a great big girl really, its taken you weeks to list a pathetic few. After the car price debate i basically gave up because you are unreasonable and unbelievably biased, i cant be wasting my valuable time with people like you. Ive seen the way you drag out arguments even losing ones with childish behavior, i mean just look at this thread.

It wouldnt be so sad if you just listed about 10 in a row within a few hours even, as it is you've taken weeks. If there really were thousands it shouldn't be that difficult.

You're just acting like a great big girl really,

Yes, I am a big fat girl who bullies small boys and makes them cry into pillows at nights! :):):)

s

its taken you weeks to list a pathetic few.

A few? Pathetic? :):):) Is free university education in Poland pathetic? :):):):):)

Besides, it seems you read every third post here.

If you didn`t, you would have certainly read this, for example:

Do you expect me to provide all of them? :):):):)
Yes, that is my plan, but you need to be patient. One at a time, OK? :):):):)

Yes, my darling, I am going to continue this thread slowly and gradually, three posts per week, till the end of this Forum.

Are you really such an attention seeker to expect me to spend hours daily, writing posts in English (which isn`t my native language so it makes it even harder:::::))))) and searching for links? Are you crazy? Boy, get a life! :):):):)

After the car price debate i basically gave up

Because you were unable to prove your point about scarclty with new examples. Simple.

you are unbelievably biased,

Oh la la, big boy uses big words. :):):):)

But you are wrong. I am only having fun bullying you. :):):) Simple.

i cant be wasting my valuable time with people like you.

But you should. Hanging around with wise and learned people here, you will have a chance to improve your intelligence and general knowledge of the world.

Ive seen the way you drag out arguments even losing ones with childish behavior, i mean just look at this thread.

Yes, look at it. And what?

I am "dragging out" arguments because it is my duty to run a discussion and develop the thread.

DId you expect me to stop after you threw in your car prices? ??????? Come on, get a second life.....

It wouldnt be so sad if you just listed about 10 in a row within a few hours even, as it is you've taken weeks.

Is it your final argument? The last stand? :):):):)

I must say it is very cheap. :(:(:(:(

Conclusion: definitely, you have to stay because your intelligence needs further improvement. :):):):):)

If there really were thousands it shouldn't be that difficult.

Of course, it shouldn`t.

But can`t you see I am busy in other threads, e.g., EURO 2012? If you were cleverer, you would see that all my latest examples here are connected with EURO. Transport, football tickets, museums.

After the car price debate i basically gave up

Nope, it was me who gave up seeing your unreasonable and biased stubborness:

Pawian, you're a funny guy. But I bet being funny in Poland must pay by the letter, because you use about 500 more of them than would be necessary in America. Can you possibly either choose to argue WB's thesis in one thread, then perhaps choose another thread with which to attempt to belittle him? I usually start your posts clean-shaven, then find gray hairs in my beard by the time I'm finished. Thanks for listening.

£31 to £80

A couple of days ago on BBC radio 4 a former government minister and Chelsea fan, David Mellor, claimed that his season ticket cost him 5,000 GBP. He added that it wasn't the most expensive one either. I didn't believe a word he said when he was in government but I can't see a reason for him to lie about this. Nevertheless, I find this figure astonishing.

Excuse me, sir, I don`t understand the logic of this suggestion. I always try to find equal parts for comparisons.

You want me to find a tent pitch on a campsite in the UK for less than £20 a night? do you think that would be difficult?

No, it wouldn`t.

But then I will provide you a campsite in Poland cheaper than 12 PLN, so the difference will remain the same.
