What can citizens do to make Poland a better place to live?

Edutainment, nice term :)

Isn't it? I'm a huge fan of controversy and humour. Whatever I choose to do or say, no matter how harsh or how shocking it may seem to some of you sometimes, I'll always keep it friendly whenever it really matters. And that's what counts isn't it? Not all the things I yell and say when I'm angry, or when I'm having a laugh.

Some people think too much, take too many things way too seriously, and judge too much. Honestly.

The easiest way to change things is to smile and start to rethink some rules.

I agree, I believe in simplicity when it comes to solutions. I think all the small things keep society going, and not the trillion dollar money schemes.

I find it hard to believe that I can't even get access to my own money 'na lokacie'. Just because my British passport lacks 2 letters, that's absurd!

LOL! Sorry, I know it's not funny..

;)

I'm in full agreement with the first part. Some things you just have to let slide and many Poles can't do this. Like water off a duck's back it should be :)

The second point is spot on too. Those stressed-out jerks who push harder and harder to get more paper (banknotes) in their accounts are missing the point. Fine, go and drive your Ferrari or BMW to work but remember that it stays in the car park for 10 hours anyway. Then sb will scratch it unless you have a garage.

Well, it gets taken out after 3 months so it's not like it's going anywhere.

One thing Tusk could do to make Poland better would be to stop talking about taxing money 'na lokacie'. This is the whole reason people put money in, to make money for it just sitting there. Similar to the set-aside policy in the CAP.

One thing I really miss about England is that people actually smile. How hard would it be when you are at a checkout in a supermarket for the person to smile and say "Dzień Dobry". When I ask for something in a shop I feel like I'm imposing on the person and they want to punch me. You have a job because we are shopping there, learn to appreciate that fact!!

Some other minor things:

- I hate being refused service in a shop because I don't have the correct change. Or being snarled at because I hand the cashier a 50zl note.

- If I let you in front of me at the checkout or I hold the door open for you, just say "Dziękuję".

Not gonna happen, tony. It's rather ironic and funny that many have a laugh at 'wieśniaki' here but they are not much better themselves. It stuns me actually when I don't even hear a thanks for letting sb in ahead of me. If they have only a handful of items and I have a lot in my trolley then I wave them through. Nothing!! Surely the church doesn't teach that so where does it come from?

Hi,
one thing Poles can do is stop the sale of live carp at any time. It's cruelty in the highest form and totally illegal but nothing is done about it.
