An Asian living in Poland soon. Cultural norms?

Hi Everyone,

I will be going to Wroclaw in June to stay for awhile and would like to know what are the few things to take note of. I heard it is a beautiful city (and country) and am looking forward to life there. What are some the cultural and social norms? What are the perspectives of Asian females? I promise to keep an open mind on your views. What are the must visit places? Any interesting places that the locals know (in true Polish fashion) that tourists do not get to see often?

where are you from?

Hey Black5wan.

I live in Wroclaw. It's a nice city, with friendly people in it ( and a lot of students ). The must visiting places are:
- main square ( Rynek ) with a lot of pubs
- the village - place when students meets with each other to talk
- Ostrow Tumski - the oldest part of the city. When you visit Wroclaw, you will have to see it. :)

Asian females are welcomed. :)

I know a place where you can drink tea ( many tastes, from all around the world ).
And there's a lot of shops, cinemas and libraries. You will not gonna be bored in Wroclaw.
If you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask. :)

where is the village ?

I meant Slodowa village, near the main building of the University.

Oh, and I forgot about the Botanic Garden - it will be look beautiful in June.

it's not village it's an island - Słodowa Island (or Malt Island) - an island on the river Odra

it is one of the places that has had money spent on it in recent years.

oh and do you all know of any affordable language schools for learning Polish? :D

no, but most of the young people can understand and speak english, the people are very helpful..:).
i recently moved to Wroclaw from Singapore(basicaly an indian). its my 2nd month here.

You should visit Ksiaz castle too. It's located in Walbrzych, about 70 kilometres from Wroclaw. en.ksiaz.walbrzych.pl

If Botanic Garden mentioned , why we are forgetting the ZOO ?
The greatest and most famous in Poland .
