Hello everybody,

I was wondering where I can make ID format pictures for my Krakow city card, please ?
I checked in Galeria Krakowska and around and I cannot found any automate machine.
Any recommendations are welcomed !
Thank you in advance :)

ps : Could you confirm that you need a picture of yourself to make a Krakow city card ?

Yes you need.
They say that you just need any ID with your picture and they have scanner in office.

Where can I buy "Krakowska Karta Miejska"?

Hi,

I would like to buy a "Krakowska Karta Miejska" in order to get a 1 month season ticket.

However, I am not sure where I could buy it.

You can get it in one of these offices:

kkm.krakow.pl/pl/informacje-podstawowe/wydawanie-karty

You need to bring a passport photo. Then you can top it up at a kiosk and you validate it when you get on the bus or tram. You just need to do that once and it's valid for the month, you don't need to validate it each time you travel.

Thank you so much @Atch Yesterday I bought the card (I had to ask it on Polish, and felt a little nervous) at one of the selling points, and also had the chance to enjoy the center of Krakow. So if I am not mistaken, either this first time, or after every top up, I have to validate the card only once at the bus or tram. I guess there's a card device inside the vehicle.

Do I need to do any kind of special procedure, or just by putting the card near the device would be enough?

Thanks again.

Hi Ig. Yes there's a yellow box type thing with a red bit on it (usually there's one located just behind the driver's cab on the tram and there's more than one on the tram, not sure about the bus) and you just wave the card over it and you'll hear a beep. There's a small digital screen and you'll see a date come up on it that shows the expiry date for the validation. You can check how long you have left on the card any time by waving it over the red thing. Sorry I'm not very technically minded so I don't know all the correct terms but as long as the card works who cares!

Congratulations on managing to get your card under your own steam and on doing it po Polsku. It's terrifying isn't it, the first few times you have to do something in Polish but it gets easier. When I first came to Poland I always used to look up the key words I needed before I went to do something, either in a dictionary or a phrase book and I used to write them down and take the piece of paper with me in case I forgot them :)

I used to practice in my head what I wanted to say before I got there (different versions and different things to say to different possible responses) and then in the US I found myself doing the same thing.... (sometimes in English and sometimes in Polish which made no sense, but....)

Hi everyone.

I was looking how to top up my KKM, on ebilet. When I bought my KKM, I paid 94zl, but looking at the options on ebilet, the one that allows me to use buses / trams from line 1 and 2 charges me 89zl instead of 94zl. Looking at the table of prices, it seems I am selecting the municipal option, but there's no other option available to use line 1 and 2 public transport on ebilet.
