Why people from western European countries are ashamed to hang out with Polish emigrants

Like in the thread. I have noticed that many times when I was living abroad and why there pretend to be friends when they come to Poland?

because they are indoctrinated since their birth how they are superior and Slavs inferior. Why? Interests, behind everything are some interests.

I'm Polish. I have visited Germany, the UK, the Netherlands (many times) and Austria so far.

Unfortunately I experienced this "I-am-superior-to-you" attitude many times. Of course, we can't generalize. But speaking from my own experience: I think that a lot of Western Europeans think that they are better than Eastern Europeans.

Also, I would like to say that I didn't behave in an improper way in those countries. My golden rule while travelling is "you are just a guest, then behave yourself".

I have visited the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria too. I have never felt inferior to anyone in these countries. Moreover, people treated me as one of them.

and you know why? because you let them. I've been living in England and for over a decade and nobody comes to me with such an attitude. People might talk things behind your back, you never know that but never in my face.

Same here. Never seen it.


Same in Poland, however in both countries not much and not everybody.

I have seen that attitude among brits living in Poland also even though they are struggling to make ends meet in poland,thinking they can speak english forgetting where they come from even a stray dog understands english.

Odd that in nearly 2 decades there I've never met anyone like that Pigsy.

Maybe cuz you are a brit also and never realise that attitude.

I am also a Brit and I have never seen this " I am superior to you " attitude.
But then I tend to judge the person and not the nationality.
Most people with more than a couple of brain cells tend to do the same.

You said it....since they have more then couple of brain cells.

Because they can see that you are too desperate to fit in with the citizens. You dont take enough pride in being Polish. You want to be Americans or British. And that is why. I have met a lot of Polish girls who change their accent when they're talking to me. Its sad its stupid and ashame and funny at times heheee. Im black btw.

Dont blacks in America also change the way they talk with non blacks???????
Even Obama use to talk differently with brothas and of course all has changed as he is the president now.lol Al Shartpton still does anyway.

I'm not from America. American accent is not one of my favourite. I just think that everyone should be proud of who they are and how they speak, stop trying to impress other people. I love all accents and most English people do. I believe accents are beautiful its kinda part of your signature. I have a lovely polish friend named Anna her English is not very good but ill take her as a friend any day over all of these Polish English and American wannabes. And that is why they don't want to hang out with you. They are probably laughing at you behind your back and its not because of your accent. British people normally have long term foreign friends with very strong accents

I see this everyday in the environment that I work in.

This is very similar to what happens with Mexicans in USA.

But please, i ask everyone to be under their skin (Western Europeans).

A lot of times people see news of car robberies, or pickpocketers being caught and most of times they are poles/romanians.

After being bombarded with so many bad news, this kind of behaviour is understandable (But ALSO WRONG. Understandable doesn't mean i agree with it).

Exactly the same of what happens with mexicans in USA.

What should I have done? Start arguing with them in their own country? It would be stupid. Everyone has own opinion. You live in England. I was just a tourist and I didn't need to prove to anyone that we were equals. I came back to Poland after a week.


You are referring to me? You don't even know me, you didn't read my other posts and you tell me that I don't take enough pride in being Polish because some of the girls you have met behaved like that? This is bull*hit.

For your information: I love Poland and I am proud of being Polish.

Stop telling everyone that you are Black. No one cares about your skin colour.

It would be very nice if some people here finally understood that I was speaking from my personal experience. Who are you to judge it and tell me what I did wrong?
