Relationships between men and women shouldn't be political!
In an equal society, women should buy men stuff, too. It should be mutual. If a guy is with a woman and she has a good paying job, he should expect her to pay for stuff and buy presents just as much as he does for her.
Of course, and women should be allowed in combat positions in the military, have to register for the draft, and shouldn't have their own sports leagues and competitions. No screams that WNBA is sexist because it depicts women as being unable to compete with men?
Good point, PP. I try to ensure a good degree of fairness as I earn more than twice as much as my wife. I find it absurd that a manageress can earn so little as is the case here. Much of the money from my privates (students) goes to her. Marriage has to work two ways and she tries to buy some nice things when she can.

Some people aren't cut out for combat male or female. The right person for the job should be allowed to take the job, regardless of gender or orientation. Professionalism is the most important thing.
As far as women and men competing on a basketball court, face it, men have some advantages in body strength, so they need to compete with other men while women compete with women. Men competing physically with women can be unfair, unless the men are weak for some reason.

Yeah, PP is really showing excellent maturity here. Many look to lock horns and wheel out combative talk but she is really reasonable and measured with her replies here.
there is simply no comparison between my wife and I. Yes, we are married but isn't it funny that it becomes 50/50 when it comes to entitlements yet is 90/10 when it comes to outgoings/expenses?
Without batting an eye, women believe the above scenario to be fair. Pseudo equality rears its ugly head. What it really is ---is Eeeeekwallety. As several women have told me in one form or another, " my money is all mine and his money is half mine."
I'd say the man is expected to pay more without question.
Ah, my friend, but I do question it. Therein lies the rub.
Animal Farm,
Always an excellent reminder of the dangers that lie ahead. Everyone should reread it every 5 years,
I wish I could recall the trucking firm that was being sued about 25 years ago. Seems it was out of Texas. The women working in the offices wanted parity of pay with the men who drove the trucks. They banded together and claimed that their job description was comparable to the mens'.
The ACLU was just getting involved in this when the men decided to apply for the womens' office jobs and demanded that half the long-haul truckers be women and half the office workers be men. Now that's real equality.
The women immediately dropped their ridiculous complaint. That's when the rubber hit the road!

Real, true, equality is never what mouthy minorities really want. Ever. They want special equality. Such hypocrites should be ignored, dismissed and maybe charged with extortion or intimidation to bring a stop to this crap once and for all.

Women are the only majority (51%) that considers itself a minority. (think about that)
That's how far backwards society has leaned to please them.
As to the trucking example; only when these loudmouth women realized that they'd be on the road, sometimes a week at a time; away from their families, having to help repair their rigs, etc, etc, did reality hit them. Otherwise they were just naive brainwashed females who thought their demand of equal pay looked good on paper.
To the women here, are women really ready for parity when it comes to the workplace? I know Polish females tend to like it when the male takes the lead.
True enough! I don't know about you, Wrocław, but I have encountered a lot of passivity when it comes to females in the workplace. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for my female colleagues but I was casting the net wider and looking at the broader picture. Some need the guiding hand of a man.
Yeah, deception plays a large part. I think we'll also see growing conflict as people become more upwardly mobile. For example, Japanese men didn't have a clue how to deal with strong Western women bosses when they came across. There is no effort at parity but a digging in of the heels and a locking of horns.
As you said, it's a game and one which I won't play, being a teacher.
"It would be hard to find a single example in history in which a group that cast more than 50% of the vote got away with calling itself the victim.Women are the only 'oppressed' group to share the same parents as the 'oppressor'; to be born into the middle class and upper class as frequently as the oppressor; to own more of the culture's luxuary items than the 'oppressor', the only 'oppressed' group whose 'unpaid labor' enables them to buy most of the sixty billion dollars worth of cosmetics sold each year; the only 'oppressed' group that spends more on haigh-fashion, brand name clothing than their 'oppressors,' the only 'oppressed' group that watches more TV during every time category than their 'oppressors', and the only 'oppressed' group who spends 65% of all consumer dollars." Just today I saw a story in the newspaper celebrating the suffragettes. You get some of this each year around election time. But in rehashing the past the author felt the need to add some whine about some political "inequality" of women still today. WTH? They have had the right to vote and hold office for 100 years now and yet they're still whining about some imagined political inequality? Nuts. I am sooo sick of peeps b!tching about stupid and imaginary crap. Time to tell such folks to just STFU and go make us a sammich...

There are more women now in management positions than men. Women are also graduating high school and attending university at a rate much higher than men...In the US and Poland!

Can't be, women are "oppressed".

Can't be, women are "oppressed".We can go on and on in this vein showing the many advantages western society gives women, and yet, the shrill victimology rhetoric continues to pour forth from the National Organization of Women (NOW) and many other womens' groups, not to mention the special womens' departments in both private and public sectors.
Bringing this to the light of day is "politically incorrect" because the "strong" and "independent" and "empowered" women are too sensitive to criticism.
