Do Polish Marlboros differ?

In Poland they dsiplay Marlboro, Camel, L&M, Viceroy, PallMall, Lucky strike, Chesterfield and other well-known American brands. My question is: does the backy contained therein differ from that in the fags sold in the States, Britian and otehr countries? I presume they must cotnain some Polish-grown tobacco, but I'm not sure.

as far I have been told (i don't smoke, i'm not that stupid)- yes, they differ (quite a lot of smoking Brits told me that)- and they are different from Marlboros made for/in Lithuania (also- quite a lot claims that 'polish' marlboros are better than lithuanian)

Even Marlboros within the United States differ.

Polish Marlboros seem a bit "lighter" than others.

Thanks. BTW I used to smoke -- Camels and Gauloises and a pipe (Prince Albert or Half&Half in America and Najprzedniejszy jazzed up with a pinch of Amphora red in Poland). Kicked the habit a decade ago.

There is difference (comparing to Turkey) and yes it is lighter. But Marlboro in Poland is in acceptable quallity and feel. If you go to countries like Kazakhistan or Uzbekistan there is a big difference. All cigarettes are too light it is not different than smoking straw.

Is it true that Polish law prohibits the 'light' label on cig packets? I know there is a prominent warning 'PALENIE ZABIJA' and suchlike.

Yes, it is called marlboro gold since using 'light' is prohibited.

Yes. I used to work in the factory. The blend they use in any given country is a result of market research to help the cigarettes meet local tastes. The Polish ones contain a blend of some imported (Turkish and American) and mostly local tobacco.

I've been smoking Marlboros in Poland for the past month, prior to that for years in the states, and really haven't noticed much of a difference whatsoever. Then again, that may be attributed to the fact that 13 years of smoking has taken it's toll on my taste buds, throat and lungs...

The main difference is that they have the filter on both ends.

Huh? If there's a law like that it's stupid and inneffective since I hear people asking for "lajty" cigarettes all the time.

That's true - and the law is EU wide, too, though people across Europe ask for lights. Also (in Poland too) the assistant in the shop isn't supposed to discuss the products with the customers. At Okęcie I've seen a lady in the duty-free shop apologise to a customer saying she can't talk about the brands.

It has been changed long time ago, and I think it is logical, word 'light' make people think it is less harmful than the normal cigarette which is not true.

lights

Yes even in some cases if I tell I want to buy gold they don't understand and ask for confirmation if I want to buy light or white.
