Please help me, with deciding a good Polish name for my baby boy :)

Hello everyone! :o)

Ok, I didn't know where to post this under. So I am assuming that I am in the right place here ;-)

I am a Polish Canadian (living in the Toronto area, Canada). My family & I moved here, when I was a kid from Gdansk, Poland.

Currently, I have a daughter, her name is Izabella, so it is "Iza" :-)

Now I am pregnant with my second one, a boy this time and I am having a hard time deciding the name!

I wanted the middle name to be after my dad: "Dariusz"

- Jakub Dariusz

- Oliver Dariusz

- Lukas Dariusz

- ???

Maybe any other good Polish names??

Why give him a Polish name if you live in Canada? Won't he get bullied at school for having a weird name?
go with Ned, nobody's every met a bad person called Ned.

lol @'Ned' - that is truly dreadful!
Something international Kasia?
Like Oliver as you thought of?

Ned?? Come on, for real :-P

...and why would they make fun of "Jakub"? They would just say "Jacob" just a different spell. I've known plenty of Jakubs here & not once I've heard that they were bullied. Same for Lukas but I'll omit "z" in here.

I'm pretty sure Oliver is not Polish ;)

Believe me, in Canada...there are names from all over the world. So it isn't too bad here :-)

Btw, I've always had my name: Kasia here. I never changed to Kate or Kathy. It never bothered me & no, I was never bullied either.

Oliver sounds a bit wet anyway to be honest.
Go to 'mumsnet' Kasia, you will have a thousand mummies dying to give their opinion.

Anyhoo... I'm bumping this thread. I've created a poll here: babynamegenie.com/polls/420676

So I need more votes here :) Thanks!

The reason I came on this site, was to find some Polish people's opinions on names.

what;s wrong with Ned, short for Edward, Ed, Eddy, Eddie

:P

Julian

I guarantee, he kicks his ass handed to him every single day if you call him that name. I mean, it's basically a girls' name.

You could call him Sue, like the Johnny Cash song so he grows up to be a hardass.
For example:
Waldek, Włodzimierz, Lubomir, Żelisław, Marian (that's a girls name ain't it :P), Barabasz, Manfred, Kleofas, Kordian.

Trust me, name the kid one of the above and because of his horrible name he'll get the sh!t kicked outta him everyday, this will give him inner strength and he'll go onto great things, example: bill gates, tom cruise, tiger woods, winona ryder.... all bullied and became successful...probably coz they all have stupid names :P

Not in Polish. But it's a bit archaic and may sound weird for modern Poles.

Crikey. Maybe Gniewomir, Ildefons or Seweryn too.

Don't forget that Daniel, Adrian, Damian, Robert are all perfectly Polish as well.

As a boring scottish background canadian ive always felt a little left out with my typical name. So if you have interesting heritage, its always a good idea to show it off in canada :D
