What are some good 80's & 90's Polish bands from back in the day? Nothing depressing. Some pop, rock, etc. A better question may be, what music do people from 30 - 40 listen to? Thanks.
What is going on in Polish Music
You really need a mix of American, British and Polish. That's what the radio stations and MTV play.
I found a great site to listen to polish music live - its radioWAWA. Only a set amount of people can log into it at one time - click on 'sluchaj' when the page comes up to listen. They play older and new stuff too.

Decapitated and vader. Listen to them. Search for Decapitated Spheres of madness or Winds of creation <smile>
that's the majority of what i can find of polish music, is death metal and the like. My brother's real big into the death metal and black metal, he listens to some of the polish metal bands, not cause they're polish jsut cause they are awesome (in his opinion).
Polish has some pretty good jazz i think. And i liked that band CAMO or whoever, someone put a video on the "Polish Music Video" topic.

hi all...I just wanted to get on here and say that I'm glad to see so many people all across the world enjoying so many different types of music...I run a website that sells loops/samples for use with music programs like Acid and FL Studio...if you're a musician/producer, check it out...samplegod.com. Much love from the USA!

You are welcome! smile. I think Polish music is too much focused on the American trends. Polish rap, for example, is one of the most popular music theme in Poland. The same sounds, lyrics, vocals - even clothes -- the only difference is that the lyrics are in Polish language. Other than that, there are great Polish composers (classics or jazz for example) but such music is not for the masses :|.
I think American rap is more about getting drunk etc while Polish rap is more about real life issues and actually has meaning in the lyrics
I hate american rap but i like foreign rap, especially when i can understand it! I don't like the lyrics of american rap. Just retarded

i think thats mostly how it is in the rest of the world. i got this guy from germany his name is xavier he is good. But my favorite rappers are americans. pigeon john, eminem, grits, fort minor, kj-52.etc. can you guys give me a link to a web site that has polish music, that maybe i can download. (hip hop, and rock.)

American rap, since the glory days of De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, etc. is amongst the worst in the entire world.
I don't like the lyrics of american rap.
of what American rap? Which lyrics?
most of it. there's a few i like, i'm just not a fan of what they percieve to be "cool" in general. which is another reason i don't like it.
Polish rap has a deep message to send.
i mean, i don't like rap in general, but i've found more russian rap groups that i like versus american ones, all i'm saying.
Russian language seems to fit for rap a bit. There are some good ones like diskoteka avaria, pornorap and others presented by MTV.

You sould look underground more. There's so much talent out there. If you're looking for non gangsta and interesting lyrics check out MF Doom(aka viktor Vaughn) :)
like i said, there's a few i like alot, but i still don't really listen to it that much, i'm more into songs based on the music aspect (being a part time musician :D)

This afternoon I saw a poster in a windowshop of a Polski Sklep announcing the arrival of a band called Pank Lady in Dubs. Apparently they are very popular in Poland.

Here is their one of the most famous songs
Hey, I just saw it in a flash when I was passing by. I am totally not familiar with the Polish music-scene. They all have weird names anyway :)
M-G (what the hell is he singing about? Half English, half Polish something about a girl who thinks she's tough but she is not, minus zero?)
