I am getting married... Visa requirements for guests

I am getting married in a few months and my fiance's sister, best friend, and cousin plan to come to our wedding, but they need to obtain visas to enter into the US.

His cousin said something about me submitting paperwork to the US Dept of Immigration formally inviting me to the wedding so they can get their visas. I've heard something about it, but I'm not sure what the form is called. My fiance overstayed his visa, so I think that may have something to do with it, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone know anymore about this process of me submitting an application so they can obtain visas to come to the wedding? If so, please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

It is called sponsorship form which can be downloaded I would not know the number. And about your financee overstaying should not have anything to do with that until she was sponsored by you then again depends what visa she came on...K1 is fiancee visa,if she overstayed that then you better get her a good immigration arrorney.Lately ICE is trying to deport very hard, once they have there hands on you no judge is reequired and simply by immigration officers signature the person is deported...GOOD LUCK!

Merged: Visa, Work Permit, Residency for Spouse of Polish Citizen.

My husband (a Polish citizen) and I (US citizen) are looking to move from the US to Rzeszow. I would like to teach English and supplement with private lessons. I have a Bachelors degree as well as experience training adults and teaching children. I am completing my TESOL certificate.

I am looking for a little clarification. Is it true that as a spouse of a Polish citizen, I would not need a work permit? I heard that if I apply for a residency visa, I automatically have permission to work. Is this correct?

Additionally I would appreciate any information on job leads in Rzeszow, the demand for private English lessons and the going rates for an experienced teacher. Thank you very much for your help. These forums are wonderful!

Sorry, another question! Business English or Teaching Children?

My degree is in Business Administration. I have experience working as a project controller and training adults on software applications. I have also worked as a public school teacher and have taught children from age 5 to 18. I have two sons, age 2 and 5, so I do have experience with children.

Which is an easier niche in Poland, teaching English for business or for children? Specifically in Rzeszow? What is the salary difference? Can I teach English to children if my Polish is basic conversational with grammatical errors? Thank you again!

You only have permission once the residence permit is granted - not before.

Job leads? Forget it - Poland works very much on being seen in-person. The demand? As in any other European country, except those with a great command of English. Going rates? Incredibly variable - however, I have my doubts that you'll be treated as anything other than a first-year teacher. [

Neither is easier - both are demanding. Salary difference? Impossible to say - I was once dealing with an offer of 100PLN/hour to teach a 2 year old child. Can you teach children? Only you know.

Merged: Visa enquiry for Australian spouse

Hi there,

Im Australian and my fiance is Polish. We are going to be married in Aus and although we are going to reside here most likely long term

Im wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to which websites I need to look at for information on my rights as

a non eu spouse (wife).

I dont hold a British or EU Passport, although yes I can come and go without a visa on holidays etc but I would like to know that

if anything should change and we wish to spend some time in Poland maybe living and working at some point in our marriage where do

I stand?

If anyone could please help that would be great.

p.s - Yes I have emailed the Polish Embassy and Consulate here in Australia, am waiting to hear back.

Thanks Diz

Hey mate,

With the EU going the way it is, it might be worth applying for a spouse visa in Australia. Jozek's link above applies best to your question, however if you do reconsider, more info can be found here:

You'll probably be waiting a long time chief. I'd call or get your wife to noise them up. I've had contact with the Polish consulates and Embassy in London and didn't to get a response and I was asking about starting a business and employing people so you'd think they would be more proactive. Then I sent a nasty email asking the contact if he still worked there or had been sacked for not answering correspondence...then gI ot a nice reply.

Mind you, the now closed Australian consulate in Edinburgh was no better, I think that diplomatic staff forget that they have a job...like in the way most receive their own national public holidays and those of the country they are in.

Merged: SPOUSE VISA REQUIREMENT- Long Term Stay in Poland

Hi All.

I am a non-eu citizen! However, I have been living in the UK for about 4-5 years. I am married to a Polish citizen in the UK. She has a translated Polish Marriage certificate which was used when she changed her ID surname and passport.

Recently she went to a place which I will say a kind of Citizen Advice Bureau and a lady told her that I can come and stay in Poland on a long term basis if she has this translated Polish marriage certificate.

However, I am still doubtful. I am currently in Poland since Xmas and we are planning to live and settle here. I would like to know if there is any Spouse Visa required despite the lady saying 'a polish translated marriage certificate' is alright?

Any website I can get some information (doesn't matter Eng or Pol)?

And other requirements?

Thanking you for reading.

(Note: Please do not comment if you need to criticise me for what I am or whatever my situation is! Comment if you can help. thanks a lot)

You will most certainly need a residency permit (a karta pobytu).

Any website I can get some information (doesn't matter Eng or Pol)?

Official info here: udsc.gov.pl/RESIDENCE,PERMIT,FOR,A,FIXED,PERIOD,1800.html

Info which easy to understand here: wikimmigrant.org/en/Karta_pobytu

Ok, from what I understand, you got married in the UK to your Polish wife, since then your wife has changed her maiden name to her now married name ( ID ,passport) in Poland. You are both now considering to reside in Poland. The first question you probably want answered is how long, before you are entitled to a Polish passport, 5 years of continuous residence the same as the UK.

How long have you been married for?

cheer for that Harry! Its deffo helping me out mate!

How long have you been married for?

Its about a year now! and been living together for about 2 years! And I am not concerned about getting a Polish passport as I could have got one in UK a Brit one! And on top I recently got my 5 years of resident permit from UK. But we don't want to live there for several family reasons.

The first thing you will need to do is register yourself at a address, before you apply for anything.

The person who owns the place you live has to do it. They need to take proof of ownership and you need to go with them (and take proof of ID, meaning your passport). Registration can be permanent or temporary. It is independent of immigration matters, so you won't be refused on grounds of nationality. Many (most) Poles are reluctant to register people at an address, but you can remind the owner that they can deregister you and that they can register you for a temporary period.

Look up the Zambrano judgement in the ECJ. Very relevant to your situation.

Which office should we be going to register? Any website or contact number mate? As I am living with my parents in law and wife, I don't think they will be shy to go forward about this registration as they have been very helpful to me whenever I was in need. But, can I re-register myself when me and my wife will be moving to Poznan? As this is where we will be staying and looking for jobs.

Thanks mate

Hi, I have been through it and it definitely increased my knowledge. But its not really my situation at the moment as we don't have a child nor thinking to have one until we settle. So if I didn't get your point can you please address it again mate.

Cheers

Which office should we be going to register?

The town hall, usually - depends on the size of the city.

Any website or contact number mate?

Which town?

Only the owner of the property can register you - but it doesn't usually matter what address you're registered at.

Merged:Requirements of Polish Family Visa

Dear All,
I am from Pakistan and its been 5 years i am in Sweden. Right now even I have a permit to stay for more 5 years with full access to work.

I have a lovely job in Sweden as I am working for the European Commission as an IT Engineer.

I am married to a Polish girl and I want to give a try to Poland.

I am wondering what are the requirements for polish family visa and how long it takes approximately to get it processed.

Your opinions and information will be highly appreciated.

Regards
Khan

Merged:Polish-Mexican relationship, requirements for visa

Hello everyone, I am a new member over here.

Firstly, I would like to describe my situation. My boyfriend(Mexican) has just left Poland after staying almost 90 days here (Mexican citizens are allowed to stay in Schengen Zone without visa for that period). I have already applied for invitation (from April 2013 to December 2013) so that he can come back here as soon as possible but there are things which confuse me and I would be glad if someone answered. All I want to know what requirements are there? I know invitation itself is not enough, he has to bring other papers with him. Is it a must to have a bank account and proof of income? even If I committed myself to provide him with everything (accommodation, food etc.) What about insurance? Does anyone know what this 30 000 € insurance has to cover EXACTLY and how much it is (approximately). Are there any other 'complicated' requirements?

If I had found any helpful info in the internet, I would not ask now. The website of an embassy of Poland in Mexico has not provide me with anything. I have been searching for a week now and I have found nothing so far.

Greetings
