De-registering as foreigner in Poland?

Hi all

Do you know what and where I have to de-register as a EU-foreigner if I leave Poland? Is it just the foreign office and tell ZUS that I am leaving? Or can anyore think of something else?

No reason to even bother, although if you want to do things properly, you should inform the Urzad Miasta, the Foreigners Office, ZUS and the Urzad Skarbowy.

Leaving already?

Yes, sadly I am leaving again. But nothing to do with not liking it in Poland. I loved living there. ;(

I will end my self-employment in Poland on 31.12.13 at Urzad Miasta and my accountant will let ZUS (and I guess tax office) know. I will probably only have to return the zamelduwany (or whatever it is called) to the foreign office.

There certainly is when it comes to ZUS if one has been running a one-person company! I knew of one poor bloke who was here but left before he properly started his company (i.e. left before registration was complete and didn't issue even a single invoice); when he came back a few years later, ZUS presented him with a bill for a few years' ZUS payments and he had to leave again.

I would (in my Belgian legalistic mind) go everywhere to de-register. If only to get the necessary paperwork to use in the country you are going to.

But it wouldn't it be wise to keep a meldunek in Poland, just in case? With a friend or so?
