problems with registration a company in poland

Have you got any problems with registration a company in Poland? What do you think about office workers? Do they speak English?

Most of educated office workers in Poland speak English.

Not the ones you have to deal with when registering a company.

The OP does say 'company'. Is she sure she means company and not just a business with an owner but not a board of directors and shareholders?

At the upper managerial level, as throughout the rest of Europe, I'd imagine most would know quite fluent English! Compared though with Germany, France and certain other Western countries, the gap between those who know English well vs. those who don't, i.e. can't since they never learned it in school, seems however more polarizing.

This though is only one person's impression.

Not the bods you deal with when registering a business at the tax office (though in Warsaw they do get a discount for Callan Method lessons if they want - most don't take up the offer), nor the people at the town hall, GUS, ZUS and KRS - I think there's about a 20% chance that they'd have basic conversational English.

Large private companies tend to be a different matter.

You don't see many of those when queueing at the desk in the tax office to file your registration forms. Or any managers at all. If only.

Allright, then I ought to have specified top execs at international concerns who also have corporate headquarters in any of Poland's major urban centers:-)

I'd say a much wider range of company people do, though I doubt the OP would have much or any contact with any of those people while she registers her business. Trust me, I've done it several times and the whole process is in Polish and with low-level civil servants.

The civil service if of course a different issue entirely, granted!

Home at 3pm max, many of them. A friend at the tax office has sometimes not even shown up for work and nobody even noticed or cared.

...yet that person nonetheless collected their pay:-0
