Paying tax in Poland

hello - I was wondering if anyone might now how long you can stay in Poland before you have to start paying tax in Poland.

As a resident in the UK, I plan to spend 5-6 months each year in Poland, plus 2-3 months in the Czech republic...for the other 3-5 months I'd be in the UK.

I am employed in the UK but teach by Skype - I pay my taxes and national insurance currently in the UK.

If I do come to Poland, how could I be sure I have the necessary health insurance, in case of illness etc...

I appreciate it'll be difficult to find accommodation in the short term i.e. 1-2 months (x 3) but also would love to hear any cool suggestions about how I might find accommodation.

Extremely grateful for any suggestions or pointers.

Thank you / Dziękuję

bobby

183 days per year, or if Poland is the 'centre of your vital interests' (check the link, the bit about Residence Rules).

that's really kind of you to provide me with that link; it's so difficult to know what, if anything, I need to do.

I'll be living in a bedsit / or renting an apartment from end of June (22); will be back in UK from 20 July to 20 August....in short, how do Polish authorities prove I've been in country x number of days.

Do I have to tell them?

I'm planning to stay in Czech republic to avoid (albeit aggressively) paying tax on UK income (around 9-10,000 GBP per annum).

I also need some kind of health insurance - I have no idea who to speak to to sort all of the above and not feel like I'm dodging the system.

thanks again for all your advice

bobby
