Norwegian lad wishing to get a car driver's license in Poland but it's expensive

Hi

20 year old lad, wishing to get a class B driver's license, legit and cheap.

I work at a garage, few Polish mechanics, cool guys in fact, great knowledge, helpful and love playing Armin Van Buuren / trance music. They frequently say " Kurwa " too, when they get annoyed whilst installing that water pump after removing half of the car....well back to the topic.

A driver's license with all mandatory gov. tests/courses and fees will cost me about 7800 Polish Zleta. That's loads, for me.

I have heard there are cheaper options, in Poland and other neighboring countries, do give me tips.

over and out

7800 PLN for a drivers license -- it must include a car? :) Unless you mean to go 100% by the book, ie. get a dozen of driving lessons, take a paid course, and pay for the fees - but STILL, it's not going to be even close to 7800 PLN. Hm, or maybe you mean to go the illegal way and buy a drivers license - not recommended.

7800 is very high (200-300% of what people actually spend).

Hi

I meant that the cost of 7800 is covering all the Government mandatory fees and courses i.e winter driving on track, night time driving, mandatory driving license with instructor, cost of issuing license etc etc. If I include driving licenses and other courses for those who have NO experience, we are talking doubling, rather 3x the cost ;)

Typo,

Flexxy, not sure whether driving tests are given in any other language, but Polish:-) If so, then surely not in Norwegian, but most likely in English.

The average Pole, I've found, is not as English-language conscious as the average Norwegian whom I've enountered.

Tests are available in English and German, and possibly Spanish depending on the area.

@Delphi; why do you want tests in .... Spanish in ... Poland? Does Poland have such a huge population of Spanish speakers? If in foreign languages, tests ought to be in languages like English, German, French and also Russian (I've noticed that a lot of documents here are also written in Russian, some in French like passports and post office docs but never in Spanish). Where have you seen documents written in Spanish in Poland???? '"lol"

Admittedly, Flexxxy's basic English may well be good enough for a simple English-language test. If he doesn't know adequate Polish, you can bet złoty to kronor, he ain't gonna take a driving test in Poland in NORWEGIAN!!LOL

That can't be right. When I was studying in Poland, several of my friends got driving license for motorcycle. They paid about 2500 zl for that including fees. So 7800 zl for a car driving license sounds like someone is trying to fool you.

Of course he can. A sworn translator can assist.

I don't want, they just have it available ;)

Apparently there are quite a lot of Spanish speakers turning up to justify it, particularly in faceless corpos...

@Delph: Hi! How many Spaniards do you personally know who took their driving tests in Poland? If in Spanish, all languages are possible and I serioulsy doubt they don't offer it in languages such as Russian, Ukrainian (due do the huge number of citizens of such countries in Poland), French, Italian, Dutch and whatever other language in the European Union (logical). In any way, I would not take my driving test in Poland considering their crazy way of driving (I took it in the US).

PS: Delph, don't you think, it must be possible to take tests in ALL EU languages? Probably they have tests in ALL EU languages and thus a Norwegian guy can take his test in Danish or Swedish (closest languages to Norwegian).

It's just that Spanish and NOT other EU languages does not make sense ;).

Hello again.

What are the rules for even getting to taking a theory test, would I need to have an address or some sort of Polish ID to be allowed to take the exam(s) or is it very straightforward? I just don't want it to be a dead end, traveling all they way to Poland and well, return emptyhanded. Sent an email to 3 different driving school in Poland, let's see if they reply. :)
