Appointing Representative to Receive Correspondence Regarding Temporary Residence Permit in Poland

Dear all,

We just applied for temporary residence permits about 2 weeks ago and understand that the inspector may request additional documents by mail, during his/her review of the applications. The literature we were provided with the applications says that we should appoint a representative to receive such correspondence while we are away from the registered address temporarily (e.g. travel overseas) or any such letter may be delivered to our neighbors for handling, which is the last thing we want happen.

I have scoured the internet but couldn't find any information how I could appoint a representative. Would anyone on the forum know what the formal process is? You advice would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

I could be wrong but this just sounds to me like they want the address of someone you know to receive correspondence while you are away, and that person would act on your behalf as a representative.

It doesn't sound to me like any kind of formal process, or they wouldn't have stated in the literature that

or any such letter may be delivered to our neighbors for handling

Thanks, Chemikiem!

I hope that is the case. We just went to the Voivodeship Office but no one could give us an answer.

Cheers!

You can appoint a solicitor to do it. Polish solictors provide a service where they will receive correspondence for you, for a monthly fee of about 100PLN. It's probably best to do that. You could appoint a very trustworthy person but, even the most careful person can mislay something or it could get thrown away accidentally with a pile of junk mail or fall down behind the back of a cupboard or something.

Thanks, Atch!

Let me try search for solicitors who provide that service. If you are aware of any reference I could use, particularly in Gdansk, please let me know as well.

Warm regards.
