Mr. Men and Little Miss series - trying to bring it onto the Polish market

I am looking to bring this series onto the Polish market for Polish children. I am working with a local publishing house and we are working to try and buy the rights to publish here.

Can anyone give me their opinion about this, if you think it would be sth children out here will like?

Welsh guy--I don't know about kids today or in Poland, but when my son was a little guy (about 20 years ago), here in the US, we loved those books and read them all the time. Simple stories and lots of characters in bright colors with the cutest little smiling faces. We had over a dozen of those books and I've kept them--there will be grandkids some day who will enjoy them, too, I hope! I think they would be easily translated and understandable to Polish children today.

Thanks for the wishes Bubba but buying the rights from the Rodger Hargreaves company is gonna be the hardest of the whole process. I have a translator lined up and I have some probna readings lined up in the local library but hargreaves wont sell me this licence

not interested in the polish market or have other plans?

he died a while ago and the licence is in his son's hands. The son feels it is not in the vested interest of the company, dont know why but im working on him.

Perhaps he thinks you're out make a profit from his Dad's work?

That could be great fun, but as far as I know it has been done already. Though I was looking for some of the books a couple of years ago and couldn't find them - maybe they're out of print. The UK publisher would know who has the Polish rights for the series.

So why can't you write a simple sentence without making several mistakes?

So why haven't you learnt polish after nearly 16 years in poland? This person's english is infinitely more times what you will ever achieve in learning polish. My father has a friend who has been in australia for 20 years and has not learnt english. But somehow i thinik you are more pathetic. I mean, you english complain when people come to your country and don't bother to learn english and form ghettos yet you are doing the exact same thing in poland. Off with his head!

Because I enjoy the peace and quiet. I hate going back to England and being forced to hear all the conversations going on round me, here I just filter it out as just noise.

Really? Care to tell us where the English-speaking ghetto in even a single Polish city is? Or perhaps you could quote me complaining about people going to England and not learning English? Personally I very much enjoyed my years living in a neighbourhood where virtually no English is heard being spoken.

And by the way dear chap, is there any chance that you will ever answer the questions posed about the Anglo-Polish treaty of August 1939 or why you lie about that treaty so much?

Not everyone is intellectually capable of doing that.

People here missing the poit again. Harry was criticising her English purely because a project of this nature requires a perfect knowledge of English and what she wrote didnt cut the mustard. Ive no doubt she could hold her own in a conversation but wouldnt trust her to translate language this specific if she cant get the basics right
