i dont blame her its beautiful

anyway i have some questions about the residency card that you get after you're married

because she wants to live in germany, would i be able to get a work with the polish residence card in germany?
or even move at all to any other EU schengen country

if not what can i do to be able to move there permanently and work ?

As far as I know it wouldn't be possible. You have to be EU citizen (or get work permit) - the Polish residency card will only allow you to travel up to 3 months in other Schengen countries. Again - please correct me somebody if I'm mistaken. In order to get Polish passport you need at least 2 years of permanent residency in Poland while in wedlock with Polish citizen.

Or as an American, and assuming you have an American passport, you can go to Germany with your fiance, try to find a job in Germany, get offered for a job, and then apply for work permit.

Merged: Release letter. Getting Married as an American Citizen in Poland

Hello everyone.

I plan on getting married with my Polish girlfriend. I am an American citizen.

Now, I have some questions, obviously.

I contacted the US Consulate in Krakow and they sent me the "release" letter or whatever it is.

I guess my next step is to request an appointment with the court here in Krakow.

I am currently on a student visa that will end on June this year. (I think I can extend it).

Will the release letter from the consulate be enough for the court to accept my petition?

Anyway, I hope to receive some feedback from fellow Americans that went through this process.

I've gave up before you and just got married in the US. Passports and that's it. Then getting the certificate apostilled+translation, present everything for Karta Pobytu (many papers) and 2 months later I had it.

About living in EU, as long as your spouse is legally residing there, you can be with her.

Merged: American to marry a Polish girl and some Poland residency questions

Hey everyone. Im an American expat with a polish girlfriend and I want to pop the question. Problem is I work in Ukraine and own a business here. I travel to Poland for banking mostly and her.

She has a few more years of University there and honestly under the new government laws I would rather not live there but would need to be there for her more then 90 days obviously. I originally wanted to open a business in Warsaw or Lublin but refuse to invest in Poland under the current governments laws.

Has anyone aware of the time frames and types of residency I would need? Some of my work can be done remotely but not all of it. We have talked about moving once her university is done to another country like Portugal, Malta, Dubai or Switzerland that has better laws for my business and relocating the business there then.
