Polish name - Andrew / hey-meek?

Hi all,

I have a question I'm hoping someone can help with. I'm from the UK but a number of my colleagues are Polish. My real name is Andrew but they've taken to calling me something which sounds like 'hey-meek' and they're claiming this is the same as Andrew in Polish. I'm just wondering if this is true or if they're playing a practical joke as I googled Polish versions of Andrew and can't find anything that sounds like that.

Thanks

It sounds like chemik-chemist or Heniek but that's short from Henryk-Henry.

hey-meek

For me it sounds like chemik - a chemist in English
