Hi Masks! I've been learning polish for a year now and I just wanna tell you not to expect to learn it in a month. Give yourself time and you won't get frustrated. It's a very hard language, but if you study it, you will learn it, there is no other way, it's simply matter of time.
I'm in London so I guess you are miles ahead being in Poland, but after a year I can make sentences, read childs book, speak a little bit, conjugate verbs (although I have big problem with the use of perfective and imperfective) and those 7 cases are no monsters for me anymore.
oh shit alright guys here's the deal, I chose a bad time to take up this challenge, I went away for a week and a half, and much of my free time otherwise has been taken up with this website I'm making which is killing me because I'm trying to use Flash/php, for which I have no experience. I really wanted to ace this Polish challenge and leave all of you awed and shut-faced, now I just feel like moron, sorry..I will renew this challenge again once I make sure that the month ahead is clear of major happenings.
I have that book Polish in 4 weeks, but I think its impossibe to learn everything in that short period of time. I just learn at my own pace....... slow lol

even a polish person working in empik store at magnolia park (thats in wrocław in case wondering where it is) said to someone when i was in there searching for some books for my daughter that this book is not one to learn from as you cant learn polish in 4 weeks ....
I think the book is ok it covers the basics. Rosetta Stone and Transparent language seem to work better for me, I like the computer programs more than a book and CD
Nobody is going to learn everything in 4 weeks I dont care how smart they are. Going to a school would seem to be the best way to learn:)
ya,just watch out when he starts singing Daisy Daisy....
Stokrotka, stokortka..........,
Believe it!
Ok, Ok, another month, no worries. I've been trying to learn PL for years so I'm really interested in your method (once proven sucessful of course), so another month.
Yeah, I've got that book too. Shortly after I arrived in Poland last year I was in a Chinese restaurant in Gdansk with the book on the table as I was eating, and a guy came in, looked at the title, and said Polish in 4 weeks. It's not possible. If you have the CD that goes with book you know what I mean.
The next week I was talking with one of the owners and he told me that he had moved to Germany without a word in German. He said the first two years were difficult but but after 22 years years there he now considers German his first language, and he's Polish. He told me Polish is easy. The only hard part is the first 20 years!
