Do Polish dictionaries give the genders of nouns when you look them up. Do they all do this or just some? If so which ones will give me genders, what's the best dictionary for this ?

Not all, very popular Google Translate doesn't and I don't know why.

Thanks. Yeah I use Google Translate a lot and it's a pity it doesn't.

Not all

Any chance you know one that does? I really want a dictionary that will give me noun genders. I know there are rules but there are so many exceptions and I can never tell which gender it is when it ends in "a".

I like this: pl-en.dict.cc/?s=s%C5%82owo
and this one to understand context in which words are used: linguee.com

I like this

Dziękuję bardzo. That's exactly what I was looking for. I also need to find a hardback dictionary. I think I will buy Collin's and just hope it has the genders. I found Collin's good while learning other languages. I know it has German noun genders but gender in German is emphasized so much more than in Polish.

If it's the dictionary which you need for learning Polish words, then I've already told you that "it has no sense". There is much faster way.

amazon.com/Kindle-Ereader-ebook-reader/

and for example free dictionary from here: blog.mikeasoft.com/2011/01/05/free-as-in-gpl2-translation-dictionaries-for-the-kindle/

With kindle and embedded translator it takes 10s to translate 1 word instead of 1min.
Translation looks like that: swiatczytnikow.pl/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/kindred-definicja-w-kindle.gif

And not to mention that with kindle you can read texts from the internet.
