Years back when I smoked I once mailed myself american ciggerettes and they were held by customs. After approaching them the parcel was sent back to states. So just make sure what you are sending, they will confisticate or charge heavy duty or be nice and send it back where you have to pay for the return postage.

News / The number of millionaires in Poland is on the rise [15]

Yeah I agree but after reading about people just surviving on 2500 Zees a month there are some doing very well as well.I feel Poland has more apportunities then states.States maybe good for unskilled workers who would go pump gas or do construction work etc since Poland would not pay them as much here, but if one is smart money could me made here too.

Oh and I was talking about millionaires in $ not in Zees.Lol maybe 25% decreased as the $ is up 25% almost in todays date.
Also there was a time one could live of there savings in bank but those days are long gone and dont think will be back for couple of decades atleast.

News / The number of millionaires in Poland is on the rise [15]

Merged: Growing number of millionaires in Poland

Poland is developing fast with growing number of millionaires

The number of Polish millionaires is forecast to grow by 40% by 2017, to reach almost 40,000. Polish millionaire volumes dropped in recent years on the back of declines in equities and property prices; but numbers rose by almost 12% in 2012 and are forecast to continue to increase in the years ahead, led by new entrepreneurs.

I still feel the data is not correct as you walk by and see the commercial properties in almost every building and calculate how much they must be worth and someone must own it,the adding shows in all Poland there are more people with money then one thinks.

Law / Am I supposed to get notice in USA if I have an arrest warrant in Poland? [7]

You shouldnt get any problems until Poland issues a international warrant and requests USA to exterdite you.To make no problems in future I would fight the case with a good lawyer as rape is a serious charge and usually very few people get convicted without and evidence. And among couple law enforcement friends I have usually is a disgruntled lover who charges that but they have to investigate.i would never take a risk from running away from that kind of charge and fight it vigoursly.Hire a good lawyer and tell them to represent you in Poland and get cleared as it can haunt you even after 25 years as that crime also in Poland probably dont have statute of limitations.

Law / Time Required to process/receive an International Wire Transfer Sent to Poland? [13]

Wrong assumption man, when the money is wired from overseas a mediatary bank is involved also, since I have been doing this so many times and Polish authorities never asked me even, then again it was from states, wonder if the rules are different from Chile.I strongly believe its the bank or the laws in Chile itself. This is the first time in almost 15 years i am hearing this issue Polish banks have only refused my transactions if the name and number don't match or are wrong.Your best bet would be go to the bank and ask them(lol if they don't speak english, INSIST,and most likely they will find someone who does.

Law / Time Required to process/receive an International Wire Transfer Sent to Poland? [13]

When the amount is greater than 5K then they must report it to the 'Polish IRS' which requires extra paper work for them

According to current bank rules the limit is over 12k euro, same is when one withdraws or deposits over 12k euro or equilent the banks tend to ask and some banks even make you sign a declaration the purpose or the source of money.I assume its not for uzjad skarbowe(polish irs) but mostly for security.

OP should ask around in the bank as it will cost him more for 12 transactions instead of one.

Law / Time Required to process/receive an International Wire Transfer Sent to Poland? [13]

Strange,I send large amounts through bank transfers from States, takes almost 5 to 7 working days though for the funds to be available. It only went wrong when my name was mispelt or the routing number or account number was wrong, otherwise never a problem since I do that almost every year.

Maybe its Chile certainly not Poland that refuses.Check the amount you can send out from Chile.

Law / Will traffic fines law like in Finland make Polish roads safer? [21]

I thought we were talking about MOVING violations

So was I,most non lethal moving voilations are reduced to non moving voilations or local ordinances voilations by the local municipalities for higher finesprovided you plead not guilty and negotiate with the prosecutor, until in idiotic peoples cases who plead guilty pay fines and get points making insurance rates high.

Maybe the town you live is an senior town where the township dont need money to fund schools.BTW there are so many insurances also are advertrising accident forgiveness.

Law / Will traffic fines law like in Finland make Polish roads safer? [21]

Infact they do the same in states esp in big cities.Everyone is driving at 80MPH in a 65MPH zone till they are not driving erratically(changing lanes very often) cops usually overlook unless they have a qutoa to complete at the end of the month/quarter/year.

LOL about splashing people you should see the NY drivers,in jersey we call them Bennies by the shore.
To add in my town a trafficlight radar was to be taken off as a promise by the mayor elect as his election agenda.

America where every time you get a traffic fine

In America usually when you go to court one can negotiate/plea bargain with the prosecutor to pay more fine for a non moving violation thus get no points and hence no insurance premium rise. Its very common in the local courts until its some serious offense, and the township makes money then the state or the insurance companies.

And I guess you have been out of America a long time as insurance companies are advertising openly for accident forgiveness openly to get business now.

Real Estate / Cheap Poland Flat Pricing online as low as 75,000 zl are these prices real? [26]

Mr India is cracking, very nearly worth the trip

The owner has a bustling business besides his claim about a British alcoholic bald man making a nuisense in that restaurant last week whom he had to call police and get him arrested.BTW that lokal is also for sale for a very lucrative price,of course not as cheap as a 75k flat would be anywhere in Poland though.
