Train from Warsaw to Siedlce

Hi All
Hoping that a local can help me with some travel questions. Have tried using the PKP (?) website but struggling. Need to get a train from Warsaw (understand it will be on the right bank of the river) to Siedlce centre and then return the following day. Would I be better trying a bus?

No. There are plenty of direct trains, at least one every hour, just after 10 past the hour. Have you tried the PKP site in English?

rozklad-pkp.pl/?q=en/node/143

By the way, you don't need to go across the river to get the train - the Siedlce train does go from Dw. Wschodni, but you can buy your ticket at Dw. Srodmiescie and get on a train (every 4 minutes) heading eastwards.

I thought that Siedlce train starts at Dw. Zachodni (Western Station) and goes through the city (Sródmiescie and Wschodni). I is similar with the trains going to the west - they start at Warszawa Wschodnia and continue to the west...

There are some changes due to the Stadion station being rebuild and some commuter trains (as that towards Siedlce) can go through Warszawa Centralna instead of Śródmieście...

Regards

£ukasz

It does, though this year there are sometimes changes for the reasons you mentioned. Most still call at Srodmiescie.

Merged: Warszawa Modlin to Siedlce

Hey there, as i wrote in the subject, i'll be in Poland on friday, and i needed to know exactly how to get from Modlin Airport, to Siedlce, and how long will it take.

I've been there many times, but i was usually guided by my gf, so i don't remember it exactly.
I tried to use jakdojade and it made it a little clear, but still i have some questions for real people (heh), letting you know i wanna use my road anyway, because it's the one i already made, so i might recognize places and have an easier travel :

1. Can i buy tickets for the bus which is taking me to train from Modlin, in Modlin? Do they accept euros?
2. Is it hard to find the right train track in Wschodnia, and do people who sell tickets speak english, usually?
3. If i take money from an ATM, will i receive Zloty? (I live in Italy, so Euro is my currency) I'd like to avoid kantor in airport because i know they have some bad change rate.

Thank you for your help

P.S. I'm not asking my friends these questions because it's meant to be a surprise :P

Often jakdojade makes things worse!

1. Can i buy tickets for the bus which is taking me to train from Modlin, in Modlin? Do they accept euros?

Yes, you buy them on the bus. They don't accept Euros and they don't carry much change. Get some zlotych from the cash machine inside and buy a can of pop at the shop so you've got some coins or a small note.

2. Is it hard to find the right train track in Wschodnia, and do people who sell tickets speak english, usually?

It's easy now - Wschodnia has been modernised and is easy to use. I doubt many of the staff speak English, so write 'Siedlce' on a bit of paper if you're unsure of the pronunciation. You could also write 'bilet w jedną stronę', meaning 'one-way ticket'. No need to get a return ticket and it isn't expensive.

. If i take money from an ATM, will i receive Zloty? (I live in Italy, so Euro is my currency) I'd like to avoid kantor in airport because i know they have some bad change rate.

Yes - you'll get zlotych.

Yes, you buy them on the bus

When I picked up friends in Modlin recently, I noticed that both Modlinbus and Koleje Mazowieckie do have a counter inside the terminal building, and I saw people buying tickets there.

en.modlinairport.pl/modlin-en-new/web/passenger/access/koleje-mazowieckie-trains.html
The train ticket btw entitles you to 60 minutes public transport in Warsaw.

You are indeed right - that's fairly recent. A young woman who didn't bother to carry a float of change used to collect the fares on the bus and I nearly fell about laughing when she told some bemused tourists that they should get coins from the bankomat!

Thinking about it, PhillipeDaverio could get any train from Modlin - wherever it goes to in Warsaw, that ticket will get him to Wschodnia. Or just get off in Warszawa Śródmieście (most, maybe all, Modlin - Warsaw trains stop there) - the Siedlce trains also stop there before they get to Wschodnia.

He should get off the train from Modlin at Warszawa Śródmieście depending on which side of the train he gets out of, he'll either be on the middle platform and just has to stay there and get a train on the other track or on the side platform in which case he just has to cross over to the other side.

Most people would do it that way and I suspect the Wschodnia thing has a lot to do with the problems with jakdojade.

In this case, and if the transfer time is tight, he has to get in the train in the first carriage and inform the conductor to issue him with a ticket. I am not sure card payment is possible on KM trains though.

If there is enough time there is the ticket counter, which shouldn't be hassle as the Modlin trains arrive at the correct (ticket counter side). Main thing is to get out here at the right side of the train.

I'll make it clearer for you, i told i would like to do the street i already did time ago.
That was Modlin > Bus taking me to a close train station, where i bought tickets for a train which brought me to Srodmiescie or Wschodnia (this i don't know) > bought ticket to Siedlce again

You think this is right? Can i get the last train from both the stations? I'm kinda confused

Very clear already and yes it's right, the Siedlce train stops at both those stations. Srodmiescie is a smaller station with just 2 tracks, one in each direction (easy to get the right train), Wschodnia is less busy and more modern, but quite large.

Yup i'm quite familiar, just i don't remember stuff, because i've never been the one buying tickets and choosing the right track.

Guess i'm choosing Srodmiescie btw, i remember it better.
And what about the tickets i'm buying? It looked like i needed less from the messages you sent earlier, but as i told you, i got confused so maybe i just didn't understand

Sort of (that 60 min ticket is only good round Warsaw - it won't get you to Siedlce) so better just to ask at the railway booth at Modlin (called 'Koleje Mazowieckie'). You can buy a ticket to Siedlce there (or at Modlin Station if the booth is closed).

You can change at either Wschodnia or Srodmiescie, howevr if you've bought the ticket at Modlin Airport or Station, you should change at the first one you stop at.

An easy journey and both stations are user-friendly (Wschodnia being easiest).

Hi Philippe

Trains to Siedlce depart from:
-Central Station (5-6 trains per day on a weekday)
-Srodmiescie Station (there is a train every hour)
-East Station (every train to Siedlce stops at this station)
-West Station, but in your case it's not an option

You can buy ticket:
-in ticket machines (they are located on level -1 in the commercial aisles of the Central Station and on platforms at the Srodmiescie Station)
-on website rozklad-pkp.pl/en (not available for Koleje Mazowieckie trains)
-at sales points/ticket windows or
-from a conductor (the purchase must be done promptly after getting on board and you will have to pay extra fee for issuing ticket onboard)

The ticket machines in Dworzec Centralna only issue tickets for IC/TLK trains. KM is another operator.

I was thinking the same. There aren't really queues though at the ticket windows at Wschodnia and not usually at Srodmiescie.

Dworzec Centralna

The wrong station anyway.

Hi,
I travel to/from work every day by train. What time you are plannig to be in Warsaw on Friday? Maybe I could pick you up from train from Modlin and help you with ticket and trains to Siedlce.

Never saw much postings for what basically is simply taking a train from A to B :)

To be fair, it's not just a train from A to B. With this being Poland and there thus being such a joined-up approach to getting infrastructure sorted out, the OP instead faces a bus from A to B, a train from B to C1 and then another train from C2 to D.

Personally I don't think that Modlin airport should be allowed to describe itself as Warsaw anything.

Well i think it's not even about the Modlin-Warsaw part, i'm worrying more about the Warsaw-Siedlce one.
You're all making me kinda nervous, halp.
I was thinking, eventually, to take the train in Srodmiescie, it will be direct to Siedlce, right?
Anyway i'm landing at 14.30 about in Modlin, hope i can be in Siedlce in the same day lol

I mean Wschodnia, not Srodmiescie

Holy f**k i'm doing such a mess in my head, i confused Wawa Centralna with Wschodnia.
Just answer my question : are there direct trains from Centralna or Srodmiescie to Siedlce or i'll have to change in Wschodnia and buy another ticket?
jon357  72 | 22850

From Śródmieście and they go through Wschodnia on their way to Siedlce. You can go directly to Siedlce and yes, you'll be there the same day (late afternoon/early evening).

So it is only one train from Srodmiescie to Siedlce? I'm reading i have to change somewhere else

Ah other thing, where is the train from Modlin stopping? Srodmiescie? So i stop there, buy the ticket to Siedlce and i'm ok?

Tomorrow, at 14.30 i'll land

The bus leaves Modlin Airport at 15.09, the train leaves Modlin railway station at 1529, and change at Wschodnia (train leaves 1628). You get to Siedlce at 1723.

If there's a delay at the airport the next one is: 1518 bus from airport, 1538 train from Modlin, get off at Legionowo (tiny station) and get the train at 1611 to Wschodnia. Then a train leaving Wschodnia at 1644. You get to Siedlce at 1804.

It all repeats at 1609 and 1618, exactly an hour later if the plane's delayed.

Bon voyage!
