Law / Understanding law and working permits in Poland also residency. A Polish company offered me a job. [5]

Hello all,

here is the thing, I am a non-eu citizen and I am currently living in the Netherlands where I possess my residence permit as a student (I also work part-time with a working permit from here).

A company in Poland offered me a job and has sent me a working permit type A.

This same company said that I should take these papers (Working permit + letter to the consulate) to the consulate here in the Netherlands. The consulate has informed me that they are not sure they can issue a visa for me because this should be done in my country of origin (freaking far from here), and although I said that I live in the Netherlands for over a year, legally, with a residence permit card and everything they are still confused and do know how to proceed (and they are more like denying it and asking me to go to my home country).

In contact with Deparment of immigrants and foreign affairs of Lodz (Oddział cudzoziemców), they informed that I could go to Lodz, to their deparment, with all my documentation (working permit, letter, passport, pictures etc) and do all the procedure there and apply for a Karta Pobytu (or something like this).

Does somebody know if I could actually go and do all of this in Lodz? Coz the company said that I'd have to wait for my karta pobytu to start working and this could take some time, on the other hand, this department said that while I wait for the karta pobytu I could start work right away.

any thoughts?

Please help :((

Law / Opening a bank account and buying a car in Poland (account in Euros, car tax, insurance) [22]

And if someone desires to buy a car in Germany where do they usually go to (in this case if this someone is living in Lodz)?

Re: Banks,
I'm with PKO, it's a business account so every time I need to call them I'm given an English speaker. re: Internet banking if you do it through Google Chrome then you have an automatic translator installed.

Thanks a lot. I will take a look at these threads.

I know what you guys mean, but I don't know how things work there regarding second handed cars. It could be a "trap" yeah, like, buy something really cheap and spend most of the time in a garage or something.

Buying in Germany?? I don't even know if I would be allowed to do that. I have no idea how to do it...

I think I will have to arrive in Lodz first and then see how it works...

When it comes to taxes, the price you see is the price you pay. As for insurance, that's going to vary on where you live, what you drive and how you drive it

thanks for the light, Harry.

I will be living in Lodz, I dunno if that makes the insurance more expensive or not. And after being there for some months I intend to get a cheap car (which I have no idea what it could be)

If I buy a car for, let's say, 12000pln how much would I pay for taxes? any idea?

thanks for your help anyway

Law / Opening a bank account and buying a car in Poland (account in Euros, car tax, insurance) [22]

Good day, guys, how r ya doing?

I might move to Poland very soon and therefore I would like to know the following:

1 - Is there a bank where I can have an account in Euros? or at least something similar? If so, which bank. If not, what are the advisable banks to open an account? (I do not speak a word in Polish, unfortunately, therefore, some banks with services in English are preferred)

2 - If I buy a car in Poland how much should I pay for compulsory tax and insurance? How the total amount calculated?

For now, only these question.

And I thank you all in advance.

Cheers

This picture reminds me of some parts in Tbilisi, Georgia. But for me was very very ok. I am so flexible that I will hardly get shocked with something like that.

Btw, I am also an English teacher. Is it possible to find students who want to have private lessons? Or also schools where I could teach?

Hi again, guys!

I've talked to the person who offered me the job position and they said that based on my experience and position they can only offer me 3200pln (gross). I believe I'll accept it. It is gonna be a new experience for me. Although part of me is scared (especially because I am leaving from my comfort zone), I think it is gonna be worth for my international career. Besides, Polish people seem to be friendly in general :)
