News / Don't let Poland become like my country, France. [630]

Or the richer it gets, even.

Richer for whom?

Great. So the likes of Poland and North Korea are wonderful examples of pure culture. Pity the poor people in France, the US and the UK.

USA is a ghetto dump
London is no longer British
France is a North African colony

None of those 3 countries are in the TOP 10 for living standards. But TOP 5 for outsiders coming in and robbing the system.

Sports? Haha

The more cultures you put into the Pot, the more watered down it gets. Not to mention look at crime statistics. A better football team. Come on, was that a joke?

Poland is currently in a perfect cultural situation. Poles that fall for Western propaganda, pack up move and never return (bringing their filth back). Poles that remain in Poland do not want outside interference.

Multiculturalism has never worked.

USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

Polish food has amazing soup. It's perfect to have on the stove always ready especially for lunch time snack. Most Americans don't eat soup and their idea of a sandwich is Subway. I haven't eaten at Subway in 5 something years. Furthermore most Americans don't eat much pork//mushrooms/sauerkraut. You have to appreciate bread, meat and cheese to enjoy Polish food and that frankly is not an American quality (Birthplace of Fast Food).

To keep your business afloat, you need local support. Most Polish homes contain atleast one good cook, avoiding the need to constantly eat out. The concept of eating out is new to Polish culture. The norm is family gatherings and everyone brings something.

History / Walesa says without meeting Mrs Thatcher in Gdansk Solidarnosc wouldn't have won [51]

There is a distinct difference in the way Walesa is celebrated today by his own (Polish) people AND the way Westerners celebrate and most importantly package Walesa to their own society. Cute butt buddy scenario in play here. The West advertises Walesa as a Soviet defeater and in return Walesa proclaims how it was all made possible by (Insert Western leader). It's really cute.

Thatcher could not have cared any less for the non wealthy Brits, what could she have wanted from Poland.

News / Why are Czechs more effective than Poles and Poland? [116]

Silly comparison

Poland:
Free for 50 of the past 200 years
Invaded by 4 nations (including Slovakia)
Decimated during WW2 and mostly not rebuilt
Never gave in to Hitler
Fueled the break up of the Iron Wall
Polish industries were stripped by Nazis, Soviets and then Allies

I remember back in the late 1990's, the gap & more importantly future forecast of the two nations was significantly wide. But the current picture is different. It's fairly obviously Czech with it's smaller size, less foreign occupations and less post war rebuilding; would be more organized and efficient. But Poland has the distinct upside in the future. Poland is the one with access to the sea and in general a more contrasting landscape. Czech is overtly reliant on Prague, while Poland simply has more to offer. Considering the public relations improvement we've seen from Poland in the past 5-10 years, it's just a matter of time before Poland catches up in terms of organization. A lot of the current issues are byproducts of Communist society just 20 years ago but that is dying out along with that specific population of people.

People take shots at the church and I understand why but you are ignoring it's positive influence during Occupation. For better & worse, it is a staple of modern day Polish society until.....it also decreases along with that specific population of people.

Life / Why are Polish people so obsessed with race? [160]

People aren't born racist. It comes from insecurity, unhappiness with oneself and fear of life.

So what? Does the fashion habits of others upset you often?

So what? The guy is obviously a monkey if he doesn't understand the concept of clothes.

Haha where are you getting all this self hate crap from? So when blacks call each other the n-word, it's out of insecurity.

Life / Why are Polish people so obsessed with race? [160]

There's nothing to say at all, is there? Racism is all about insecurity.

Says the guy whose probably met a hand full of non Whites in his entire life.

Leave topics like racism for individuals who actually interact with different races on a daily basis. People aren't born racist. Racism is based mostly on personal experience. As in the only black guy in my class always wears shorts/pants around his knees forcing every single other individual to see what underwear he's wearing that day. Every single fkn day. While the rest of the class a mix of Asians, Europeans and South Americans dress like adults. As in the only people ignorant enough to bring their babies to a class lecture are black. As in their arrogant attitude even though they've never been anywhere, never done anything in their life. As in their ****** temperament while everyone else is doing the same work, during the same time and under the same guidelines.

But yes, I'm just insecure.

UK, Ireland / Former minister admits UK messed up on immigration [78]

Few thoughts:

- Poles, along with the rest of Europe stop immigrating to the USA a couple decades ago
- But those that do, usually leave their entire lives and culture behind. That is not the case in England which is only a couple countries away.

- Mexican-American, African-American or Polish-American are all worse than natives (Mexicans in Mexico, Poles in Poland etc) For example so many Poles living in the USA turn into materialistic loving wiggers. Unless I met them at the University, work or church. Then they are simple minded idiots like the rest of the American population.

If that is some kind of "dream". Whatever.

Life / Why are Polish people so obsessed with race? [160]

Polish Federation has issues with guys that have Polish last names and speak Polish. There is no way in 20 years there would be as much of a change as you describe. Maybe when I'm on my death bed, half the roster will no longer carry a Ski last name.

Fk the editing is annoying. Scratch that post above

Poles wouldn't sell out their children in exchange for commercial sports success. Seeing young white Polish kids with flags painted on their faces cheering for a Non-Pole is a very rare sight for a reason.

And the rare occasions it occurred was downright sickening. We may lose but we lose together. What is the reward in winning when you can't even share it with your own?

News / Skins vs anarchists in Warsaw [93]

Yeah, Bóg, Honor, Ojczyzna.
I don't know where the honor is in destroying what your ojczyzna has built, and I certainly don't know what Bóg would support that.
Terrorist mindset.

Some rainbow crap built in front of a Church? F-that. Poles have balls unlike Western society.

No, I mean the larger march, also the one which saw not a single arrest and the one which featured the real Polish patriots, not the neo-Nazi scum who would have been first in the queue to collaborate with the Germans in 1939.

Zero arrests during these difficult times? Says all you need to know about the "crowd" there. Bunch of Western sell-outs. They are most likely children of Communist sympathizers following the 2nd World War.

Influx of Polish children into schools has 'helped improve British pupils' grades'

Study suggests children from the Eastern European country help boost standards in mathematics
Could be due to better 'work ethic' of their parents
Eastern European parents have complained British schools do not challenge their children

Love / Advice Please! Meeting my Polish boyfriend's parents!! Gifts, customs... [105]

The tea is a great idea. Practicing a few Polish sayings is also a great idea. I'm willing to bet their biggest issue is that their family tree will no longer be Polish. That's just overwhelmingly how mixed cultured relationships end up, especially half way across the globe. Show that you are willing to learn some phrases and this will give them the impression they still have hope of Polish speaking grand children. Ultimately that will go much further than any materialistic objects, American ones no less. Most Americans take pride in how multi-cultured and mixed pot the USA is but Poles take pride in being partitioned, slaughtered and then occupied for 50 years and yet in control of their own destiny today. To see those sacrifices quote "Wasted for a foreign husband" is quite difficult to stomach.

You don't have to get wasted BUT definitely don't attempt to take a high road in terms of alcohol drinking while you are there. It is also in your advantage to get the parents drunk and with that will come out their feelings/concerns. Because Polish culture is probably more conservative/reserved/old fashioned on the first meet up than what you encounter in the USA. But once the door is open, you will be pleasantly surprised. The tough exterior is to run off those that aren't in for the long haul.

Are you, the daughter or her family into spicy/hot food? Taking some hot sauce etc with you would be cool I think. There isn't much of that in Central Europe. It can be your way of showcasing the benefit of the USA melting pot. Because although they said bring Hersheys.....there is much better chocolate over there. Maybe spicy potato chips that you can "have for yourself" but share with them.

Love / Younger Polish girl 24 dating old man [21]

Both parties are technically correct

- They failed raising a normal women with values (Being a widow might have a part in this though. Once you've lost love once, whats a 2nd time)

- A fool and his money are soon departed. Your dad is on his death bed and wants one last fun hurrah. It is his money, he should do what he wants with it

If your father has wealth, yeah she is probably after it. Atleast her Polish family is trying to be pro-active against it instead of waiting for the pay day to come
