Life / Financial incentives to increase fertility in Poland [9]

Perhaps religion is important too, but I think the most important factor here is that it is agrarian, poorly educated and patriarchal societies that reproduce well. I'm not sure that Sub-Sakharian Africa is very religious. If some country experienced more than 100 years of firm industrialization it will not reproduce well. It makes a profound shift in mentality and lifestyle.

Life / Financial incentives to increase fertility in Poland [9]

How efficient, do you think, are or would be a financial incentives in countries with low average fertility rates to increase fertility? What would be a sufficient amount of money paid for every second, third, etc. child to make almost every family to have two children? 300.000 $? 500.000$? Is it realistic to find this huge money (at least in developed countries) to finance this program? Do you think such programs need to be implemented in your country? And if yes, who suppose to pay taxes to finance it?

Polonia / What are qualites of Germans? [60]

The regrettable rise of the AfD and the election of a known Neo-Nazi as mayor

What relation does AfD to the Neo-Nazis? I've read about their official program and there seems to be nothing about the Nazis.

Polonia / What are qualites of Germans? [60]

It would be interesting to know how majority of Germans envision the distant future of their country and entire World. For example, do they expect their country to become truly multicultural? Don't Germans feel that Germany and Europe started to become too static?

Do not wash our hands and drink, fifalleralla
Hurry to drink, because it cannot be washed away...
Fifalleralla-leralla,
Blood cannot be washed away

Hey, an old witch, meet up the guests!
The tavern didn't expected such a guests and neither the innkeeper
Fill our caps old woman, faster!
Don't you know what to serve?
Not what we shed, but something even redder!
Pour in the caps!
Fifalleralla!
La-la!

USA, Canada / What do you think about NM (New Mexico) state? [40]

Europeans constitute minority there and climate is very hot (in summer) and dry. Santa Fe seems a city with the best climate there.

Classifieds / Translation from Swedish needed [10]

There is a song from Russian series movie "A Young Russia" which is represented as an "ancient and scary pirates song". The name of the song seems to be "Fifallerala". I think it would be interesting to find entire lyrics with translation. It sounds impressive. Does anyone knows what "Fifalleralla" means in Swedish? This is the only one "foreign" word in the song as the rest is in Russian. Approximate lyrics:

"Hurry to drink (vine), hurry to drink (vine), and no wash our hands. Because the blood cannot be washed away. An old woman fill our cups, etc..."

Law / GDP or GDP per capita - what's more accurate number in Poland? [10]

This is a serious problem. Let assume that US and Brazil have the same size of population and service sector represents 70% of each economy. In this case total size Brazil economy may comprise 70% of US economy even if the size of manufacturing production may differ many times. Most of the service sector doesn't require huge capital investments or assets and calculation may get confusing. I mean that relatively poor country with poorly developed manufacturing may have well developed service sector (such as tourism, trade, health care, recreation, casinos, hotels, etc). But it doesn't mean that an average citizens can afford to buy lot of manufacturing goods.

The claims that service sector comprises 70% of economy in developed countries are arguable and speculative. They could be based on statistical tricks.

Let assume there are two countries with the same size of population: A and B. Country A produces 5 times more manufacturing production (vehicles, computers, electronics, furniture, cloth, etc.) than country B. But both countries have exactly the same well developed service sector (govt. services, banks, restaurants, hotels, taxis, hotels, health care, recreation, trade and anything else). I think ability to afford manufacturing goods defines real life standards much more than services.

Law / GDP or GDP per capita - what's more accurate number in Poland? [10]

I think manufacturing/industrial production per capita is more accurate way to estimate the real wealth of nations than GDP per capita. GDP per capita includes a "service sector" which is often difficult to estimate in the sense of real wealth.

Language / The Slavic accents [4]

Thank you Lyzhko!
How would you tell unpleasant and weird Russian accent sounds to the native English speakers in general? I've read different opinions on this regard ranging from "very sexy" (especially when spoken by a woman) to "mafia like" and "chilling to the bones" (especially when spoken by a man). Many Russians find Georgian accent unpleasant (and other trans-Caucasus accents). While Baltic people or say Italians speak Russian more pleasantly. Well, I guess everyone supposed to hear Putin or other Russian top officials speaking English on TV.

Work / Is moving from Moscow to Wroclaw worth it? (.NET software developer) [39]

In the US, Software Developers earn around 10,000 usd a month.

This is probably before tax deduction, so after paying taxes you will get around 7.000 usd a month. For those who have a family taxes could be a bit lower. And expect to get 10.000 a month (120.000 a year) brutto, only if you are really advanced developer. More commonly salaries range from 60.000 - 95.000 brutto a year.

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

There is no population crisis anywhere.

Really? It could be viewed from many viewpoints. For example in some countries it comes to a total and complete replacement of a native cultures with a foreign cultures. Are people in those countries fully prepared for this? Does it foreshadow a long term economic and general stability? Well, the later elections and political moods in these countries definitely show that not quite.

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

what a way to cheat death and to proliferate...THE FUTURE!

I don't see almost any other solution. Native Europeans don't want to have children and neither they want immigrants. I wonder what will be the largest success of anti-immigrant parties in Europe? Economic incentives don't seem help a lot. Or probably they have to be extended to a huge numbers? Should mothers receive something like 100.000 Euro for any newborn child and 3 years of vocation? Or perhaps even 200.000-300.000 Euros? And who will pay for this? Another solution is to return back in history to a patriarchal society. It would be difficult to implement. One more possibility force people to have children by punishing those economically who don't want to have more than 1 child. Prevent them doing carriers before they have 2 children. Nothing that looks working well for me, so far.

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

I think that developed countries will be forced to switch to some kind of artificial reproduction (possibly cloning) and incubator state education of people. Possibly memory downloading.

News / What should Poland do to solve the population crisis? [101]

So how to get it up to that? Promote birth rates or immigration?

You can always import as many Cossacks, Belarussians, Russians, Serbians etc, as you want. The other question what will happen to the cultural integrity of Poland... I don't see a principal problems with assimilation of the forementioned nations, but first of all in this case the problem of depopulation will switch to the other countries (Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Serbia etc.) and secondly assimilation can never be absolute...

History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

What about the oldest residents the Tatars?

If not to count the Greek community. Those are probably the oldest nation of all in Crimea.
