Work / Two job offers in Poland, which one should I take? [12]

Basic healthcare package (as in private health insurance) is actually very cheap as it doesn't cover much, perhaps 130 PLN/employee/month. The devil is in the details. What is important however, is that the company tries to do something for the employees at least. This probably means they have an office manager, which means nicer working environment and a potential resource for you if you need something done, like dealing with bureaucrats :)

I'd choose Poznan, but then again I live here and only visited Lodz once. Out of ~20 in our office at least 2 chaps came to Poznan specifically to work for us, seems like a good trend! There's quite a bit here, really. I keep discovering new thing every week.

Wrt. going out, you can do that every day :) Poznan is full of students and ahem... symposia in the original sense, once you make some friends.

Rent is about 1400 for a decent flat, additional costs will run you about 100. You could go cheaper with flatmates, but that depends if you can handle that lifestyle. You could get something quite so very nice for 2500.

Seems like rules have changes quite recently:

Assuming your current Dutch driving license is of appropriate format:

"If you move to another EU Member State, in principle, you do not need to exchange your driving licence for a local one since all driving licences are mutually recognised within the EU.

However, if you move to another EU country and establish your residence there, you will need to exchange your licence for a local one once it expires."

just a few years back, the rule was that you had to exchange your driving license between 6 month and 1 (or 1.5) years after moving to a another EU country permanently.

Alan1, I assume you and your spouse are going to settle in Poland, in this case you want to naturalize your car(s) too.

It is relatively easy within EU, and if all is done right, you don't have to pay any taxes, but you do have to pay some fees.

Tax you save is 3.5% of car value for <2L engine and 18.x% for >2L engine.
However you cannot sell the car for 1 year (?) when here.
There may be some limitations, e.g. car cannot be brand new.

There are companies who can help you here in Poland, my weekly commute to gf's parents' passes one, so they gotta be rather common.

If you are going to do all the paperwork yourself, it's 3 offices (customs, tax, communications) and possibly some document translation.

In an ideal case the documents you need to drive and sell the car in Germany should be all you need to register your car in Poland, thanks EU.

I believe there is certain time limit within which you have to start the procedure, 1 mo? 3 mo? or something like that.
