USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

Listen, Polish cuisine is excellent,

I'm listening man and I don't blame you for feeling that way as you are a Pole but Polish cuisine is not everyone's choice, that's for sure. As I said earlier, some of it is really good but certain foods are terrible to even look at it, not to mention to taste it or smell it (flaki).

the claim that Polish restaurants don't suceed in the USA and it has been proven false.

This is what I've found about it. It's up to you to determine whether you call it success or not. I'm sure, there are few more Polish restaurants scattered around the US but it doesn't seem to be many indeed, comparing to others anyway. It's not that I'm trying to lessen the importance of Polish cuisine, I just responded to your statement, that's all.

You can't force tripe, czarnina or milk soup down someones throat

Alone looking at those three, makes you wanna go on diet, lol

but it can be pretty damn good

Some of it is really good. To me Polish food is either really tasty or really nasty, nothing in between.

Love / Why are Polish women so sexy ? [390]

am a very strange guy..i tend to look at womens eyes rather than the bits most guys look at...

Actually you're not really that starnge at all, I like it too when a female can use her eays to communicate with me without words. It usually convinces me more than anything else but in a case of that girl I'm missing exactly that type of look. Actually, you can barely see her eyes, they're way too small and not giving me the challenge I was talking about earlier. I'm not trying to be mean, just being honest.

Yeah, we're meant to be talking about hot chicks not hot rides... ;)

To be honest with you I don't really think that "hot chicks" are really that attractive to all men. Alone the expression stands for cheap looking (maybe pretty) girls (unfortunitely not very smart though).

Then you should get over to the music thread and post something that'll have more shared meaning... :)

I shouldn't, it was just a little remark, that's it.

to be the odd one

quite a few of the other guests must have been "the odd ones" then too, :-)

a few shots usually sort the problem

don't like shots, sorry. In general we don't do shots that much at all. It's just not our thing. We do shots (sometimes) but different than vodka (I don't like vodka)

bit too much drinking and singing

too much is the key. I don't need to get wasted just to have a good time. Singing, yes please but not yelling

but that's what it's all about!

if you read my posts before
1.no prob with drinking but a little slower and not over your limit
2.singing but not yelling

He openly aproves swimming naked, not considering the effect in may have on ones health

I haven't even mentioned anything about skinny dipping (swimming naked)

didn't you think that people in western europe have usually more money so they are in better mood for party

you got a point there but sometimes creativity does it too

that is the key word of your thread;)

like I always say matter of taste and mentality .

exactly so

some

doesn't sound like many, :-)

because they are having problems with dealing with cultural differences

I didn't say I have a problem with it

generalization

observation is not the same as generalization

One cannot, because all countries are different

right but in the western part of of Europe it was kind of easier to find people to party with the way I like it. I guess it's just the matter of taste and mentality but some parties in Poland were OK, a couple of them even great.

Come on freebird, time to confess.[/quote]

well, I did confess. I'm just saying my honest opinion about what I've experienced in Poland and most of you guys just hate me for this :-) I don't understand why you guys getting so defensive over something like that. It's not like I'm saying something wrong about your country.

You got to admit the title of this thread is just silly?.

well if you put it this way, 99% of this forum is too. I'm just killing my breaks over here that's all. I don't take all this very serious but I like to keep it a little controvercial otherwise it will be damn boring and this is not what I'm here for.

Have a good 1 Sean

But too drunk people act like animals in all countries I've been too.

absolutely agree

Cheers, now I'm gonna take a beer!

I travel because I am curious about the differences.

I honestly believe that some people should stay at home;).

what you're saying is travel to see the differences but don't you dare to mention your feelings about it, bull
One of the reasons for me to travel is to make my own experiences with different people living all over the World and not to follow media in my own country but it doesn't mean I have to like everything I see wherever I go. I don't see anything wrong with posting my opinion on this forum. This is what forum is for, to exchange different opinions and informations. I'm raised in a free country where people say it if they don't like someone or something and what's wrong with that? You guys do it too making your comments about my country and my people and if this Ok then it's also Ok for me to express myself too.

Why don't people try to understand different cultures instead?.

I do and still say how i feel about it. What's wrong with that?

I am asking because you have intelligence

thanks, I know you're capable to determind that

Well, I see it as offering an alternative

well done :-)

I am Irish but you are forgiven (but only half;)

sorry anyway, didn't know you were Irish (by the way lots of you guys are Americans now, we might be even somehow related, who knows:-)
