Language / Is it too late for me to learn Polish..? [65]

That's what I meant. I don't know much about it but I asked my dad he graduated in Slavic languages or whatever do you call it nowadays, so I trust his judgement

Love / Fell in love with a Polish girl, but find it difficult to approach her [620]

nor do I make racist comments.

You didn't say anything racist literally.. but there's a racist, xenophobe undertone in what you say. You seem to want to get other races & ethnicities involved in everything that goes wrong, whether you say it literally or not.

I don't see what it has to do with it all.. You know Southern, people don't think that way like you do. In terms of being "inferior" or "superior" to a black, paki, turk, english w/ever We don't see it that way.. we don't think in such terms. If someone has a nice attractive gf/bf it's probably because he is a nice attractive loving boy/girl in the first place..

Well put. I suppose I have two options. 1. I get plastic surgery 2. I work on confidence. I'm broke as well so I guess its contestant number 2 for me. But how do I improve confidence? All this rejection just drags me down and makes me hate myself again.

Been thinking about the surgery as well.. but it's so costly..

What Ken says is that he does not have the confidence neither the looks. So what are his chances?

Well if you don't have the looks, you can't have the confidence obviously :-/

Just think that pakistanis get polish girls. Are you inferior to them?

What the **** does that have to do with anything? Inferior? If he's a fun loving guy why couldn't he attract someone of a nice girl from a different ethnicity?

So because a Paki can get a Polish girl anyone can, because the guy is "just a Paki" ?
wtf really..

Life / How Safe Are the Polish Cities? [179]

When we hear of English coming here (I don't live in Poland atm) we think "uh oh another football game? those are all hooligans & are going to trash our cities again" Why do we think that? Because it happened before, it still happens & your country (unfortunately) built a reputation for having chavs like that come into another country, drink themselves to death, trash the place & leave as if nothing happened. (Not even counting stabwounds)

So much for British manners.

Are they all this way? Of course not! Am I generalising.. hell yeah.

Is it any different from what you do? No.

I feel sorry for what happened to you & your wife, but this has nothing to do with Poles, we're not any more rude than any other nation. I invite you to come to Poland someday so you can visit our beautiful country & see for yourself.

majority of them are skin heads and remind me of louts with no manners.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but I don't know how old you are, so you may not be "up to date" with youth subcultures. Skinheads have nothing to do with fascim or racism or neo-nazis. Skinheads originated from "mods" (I'm sure you know them) & stuck around since then.

A lot of neo-nazis are skinheads but skinheads can be of any political movement or apolitical. It's a subculture based on music.

A "real" skinhead will wear Martens or other boots to match if not he's either bold or likes the haircut! If they have white laces they're nazis, if they have red shoe laces they're commies, if they have something else, it's just a bloke.. (sorry if this laces thing sounds ridiculous.. thats the way it is :) )

What do many of the girls do? Work as strippers and ****** in Londons red light district.

many operate criminal activities, defraud

Many.. many.. "many" ... You sound like the only thing you read all day is the Daily mirror & BNP tracts.

Take it from us, the vast majority of Poles coming to the UK is trying to work hard in order to save a little money & make a living. We know them, they are our friends, family, acquintances.. That's all. We wish as much as you that the rotten apples would get caught & put out the basket so people like you wouldn't register here just to nag us about it.

As for the prostitution thing, that's a different thing alltogether. Good luck trying to take out, it's in every country of the world & it's never going to go away.

So tell me what positive conribution they are making?

They are working hard for companies in your country, so that people from your country, could benefit. The UK has opened the door for workers from the UK because they needed them.

So either the entire UK suddenly decides to make 4 children instead of 1,4 (which isn't gonna happen with our high standards of living)
or you accept the fact that you need immigrants in order to keep your standard of life high. That's an economic reality.

Life / How Safe Are the Polish Cities? [179]

I also find Polish people very rude, one was about to attack my wife after he pushed past her queue jumping, If I wasnt there Im sure he would have hurt her.

That one random example in your personal life surely is enough to describe all Polish as very rude. I'm also pretty sure he would've attacked your wife. I mean.. he was Polish after all, we were raised to act like ******* animals to each other withouth any courtesy.

Or... perhaps.. hmm.. crazy wild theory but hear me out.. perhaps the guy was just an ******* no matter what nationality he had & that such things could happen anywhere in the world?

Hmm.. hmmm.. nah, now that I thought about it, that's just crazy.. you're right. It's because he was Polish.
It has probably nothing to do with your hatred & xenophobic attitude towards the Polish minority because you don't like them in your country "stealing your jobs".

Here in the UK we have manners and ettiquettes

I'll drink to that.

Life / Are you too selfish to leave Poland? [22]

"As soon as I have my MA's, I'm getting the hell out of this piece of s*** country".

That's indeed selfish. You are absolutely right. But now that we've settled that.. we can move on & ask ourselves: Is it bad to be selfish? :)

Travel / Which city is better to visit: Warsaw or Krakow? [169]

Krakow, for sure.

The city itself is beautiful & as traveller said there's much more to do in the surroundings. Also if you get bored of it all, you can hop to Prague or Bratislava easily. Definitly Krakow.

Love / Polish stranger wants me to write to him [34]

Aren't Polish people supposed to be catholics? Meaning no sex before marriage

Do you seriously think that people who label themselves as catholic don't have pre-marital sex? It's not the 1950's anymore ;)

Love / Polish stranger wants me to write to him [34]

Of course you can.. just make it clear you're enganged with someone. Or just tell him straight.

Or if you want to have a flirt.. that's up to you.

Love / All Polish women can't be nutters can they? [257]

It's people like you that cause women to "assume" all men are the same.

Well, the opposite is true too.. ;-) But I agree, he's a nutcase. He made a very angry post earlier today but it was removed.. Dec knows what I'm talking 'bout ;-)

Life / Are you too selfish to leave Poland? [22]

I understand what you're trying to say, and it's more than the money alone. It's also about opportunities career-wise & in your personal life. There are enough stories about Poles who take on higher education for 3-4-5 years only to have to get a menial job afterwards. If there's an opportunity to "expand" yourself abroad, grab it I say.

For lots of Poles ( & others) it's basically about having a job in the first place. And having an opportunity to earn wads of cash abroad & coming back to your homeland afterwards isn't a bad thing in my opinion. Money isn't everything but we can twist & turn our thoughts about cash how we want, at the end of the day being financially secure gives us a happier life.

I really respect the fact you've stayed in Poland & maybe it is indeed selfish, but is there anything wrong with being selfish in order to be happier in life? You tell me :)

Love / All Polish women can't be nutters can they? [257]

do you have qualifications to make such a diagnosis?

I'm a fully qualified plumber. That should give me enough to label them.

if i was you, 33, i wouldnt have a serious relationship with a girl 22 and works in a night club. i dont mean to offence and judge her, but nomorlly these kind of girls are unstable, and havent understood the responsibility of love yet.
i would think it was your own fault to get into this relationship. think about your part in this mess before blame this young girl

On the other hand, he's 33 & there's a young hot 22 year old that wants to have sex with you. Don't forget to think with your penis once in a while if you're trying to place yourself in the position of the guy.

Trying.... hard... not.. argh.. not.. to put.. sexist.. comment.. MUST.. RESIST...

And no, that's not normal behaviour in my book. I wish you best of luck in there, but it's not normal. And you know it.. you're 33 so you had previous relationships before. So you know what's normal & mental. Just hang in there.

Language / Is it too late for me to learn Polish..? [65]

Depends how serious you are about it. You could try evening lessons or finding a private teacher, that should give you the fastest advenements in learning a language as you talk to others as well.

Of self-learning kits such as books or software.. but that's harder.. but less expensive.

Life / Are you too selfish to leave Poland? [22]

I think it's way too idealistic to expect young Poles to stay while they can have a much brighter future in another country be it career-wise or any other way. It's very easy to sit behind a PC & midly critise them for it. But in order to make them stay you have to improve the country first & not the other way around.

And I'm sure it will improve but that takes time. It's only been 17 years since the wall fell down.. that's nothing. In the '50s tons & tons of Italians, Portuguese, Greek & Spanish emigrated to France, Belgium, the UK, etc to work in coal mines, because there wasn't any work. After that those countries joined the EU & have become wealthy western states. All you can hope for is that the same happens in Poland.

Apart from all nationalistic feelings, what would you do? If I studied for 3-4 years & could only get a crappy paid job with no long-term opportunities or no job at all.. heck.. I'd get the **** out of there. I want to get the most out of it.
