Love / African girl from USA dating a polish guy needs advice [38]

first of all, you need to talk to HIM, explain how you feel, what bothers you... etc. people in this forum don't know him, and reasons for his behavior. have an honest and open conversation with him and demand honest answers from him. if what he says doesn't make sense, question it and if you don't like his thinking and behavior, don't force such a relationship to work. you must feel good in a relationship and not uncertain and always unclear about what he's thinking.

Life / Is grumbling a Polish attribute? [24]

Well, I hope you're right! :) Although the letters I get from my Polish friends are much more winey then the ones from my American/British/Swedish/Turkish...etc. friends. It is the most interesting thing, and those people are not some unsuccessful losers - quite the opposite, and they still like to complain about their lifes. But you're right, even when they do, it's completely different then what our mothers used to do.

Life / Is grumbling a Polish attribute? [24]

Grumbling, complaining, low self-esteem... all are so common in our old fashined part of the nation. I was always wondering what the heck was wrong with all those people. My mother is the same way, although she's the sweetest person, she is never satisfied or happy. Even when things are going well, she'll complain! How sick.

This is what I dislike most about some Polish people. I know other nationalities in which people are poor and uneducated but they are still relaxed and happy - it makes such a big difference and so much more pleasure in interacting with them.

Life / What is going on in Polish Music [128]

I know! that's why I asked what's new with music these days. I want to listen to the new stuff... hopefully if it's good.

Back to the subject of music for a moment... I must say that the most beautiful music in the world is Turkish.

Love / Polish Girls vs Russian Girls [813]

well, yeah, men mature later, but we both have similar brain capacities, don't we. there are many examples of healthy and mature men.
yes - men and women are different in many ways, but after we both mature, there are some values and ideas we both are supposed to come to understanding of. problem is that some (many) men don't have the desire to ever grow up.

please understand that I'm not trying to make "my truths" sound right to you, I'm trying to challenge you to think and ask yourself questions you might have not thought of before (maybe because it was convenient this way :( , no matter the reason, you are still responsible for your level of awareness).

I'm not going to continue a conversation with you (whoever posted the last message).

did you by any chance try to make these two - learned and inborn - equal? :)

did your parents teach you the grammar rules of english or polish before you learnt how to speak it? next time please try to think a little deeper before you write something. I think I've explained it a couple times by now, have you read it? if you have problems understanding, ask me questions instead of repeating the same phrase over and over like a broken record. but then again, if you choose not to use your brain because of your laziness, keep being a caveman but don't talk to me.

I love good trance, but somehow can't remember this song :(... I'll check it out and let you know if we need to argue :).

I just listened to Kowalska's questionable song and the music is identical with that english song!

Thanks for the links. I couldn't make them work, but I found the clips on a different web site. I always liked Gawlinski, I'm sure you know the song "pijemy za lepszy czas..", although I don't understand why we have to drink for the better times... but somehow the song has this nice optimistic light tone which I like :).

did you mean "healthy the guy..."?

It's not that I "know how to make him happy" - he's not my son or I'm not his slave. We are happy because we can understand each other and want the same things. Neither of us is using any tricks to do that, we are just ourselves which is so amazing that you would never want anything else!

He definitely thinks he's a lucky guy as well as I know that I am a lucky girl :). But you - should learn NOT to miss things! :). Maybe it's a rude way to say this, but I hope you don't expect your genitals to satisfy your heart.

As long as my avatar goes... don't make too many assumptions, although I definitely have a sense of beauty and style :). It's sad that you think that our youth can be shallow and empty... :(.

Which are the best at cooking and in bed?
Do you have to chain them to the kitchen sink or can you trust them to stay put?

what kind of caveman wrote this message? :) (women, beware, don't talk with this guy!)

Rfx - don't let yourself be easily seduced (hard to do if you're looking at women as sex objects, react to them automatically and can "know" if you like them or not just by looking at them though).

It doesn't look to me as 'love at first sight' but infatuation based on sexual attraction (was she really that gorgeous...?) - how could you have thought that a relationship based on that will be long-term and fulfilling?

You are left alone again? Means that you never learnt your lesson, maybe you never thought that there is more for you to learn, or that your assumptions might not have been right... It is easy, the only hard part is to realize that YOU must change your attitude... or expectations.

Thanks for letting us know. Actually I don't really know Voo Voo, but anything techno sounds good to me :), we'll see what it actually is then... I hope it's not too depressing. Any special titles you remember?

Technically the wink was after "Russian girls", so I can't be sure which part of it was a joke :).

I would say learn your lesson and don't let people break your heart so easily, which would probably mean not falling in love with the wrong people and learning what it takes to build a good relationship. It may sound like something difficult to do, but in reality it's a great journey.

Yes, I have a boyfriend and I had one before him. I've tried to make sure I don't make the same mistakes twice, but every person is different so you can never know the formula... therefore all the work has to be done on ourselves, it's so exciting! :).

now that I think about it, I'm wondering why do you spend time breaking people's hearts? did someone break yours so badly that you're still taking revenge for it?

Oh, I didn't know anything about Polish rap! hehe. Maybe one consoling thing is that other countries also copy American styles, even Germany. You'd be shocked (assuming you haven't been yet) how Germans americanize themselves, it's disgusting :).

Again, I'm going to ask for recommendations if you have any - I'm not a fan of jazz, but classical and even rap are welcome :).

Life / Polish Film World and Poland Movie Reviews [30]

I like the movies where they explore some ideas or topics (can't really think of a good example though... :( ), I think that this is pretty unique to Polish cinema and well done.

What I don't like is when they show those people who only know how to complain and don't do anything to change what they don't like, but this is surely strictly connected with the communistic past. I really hope that people start to realize that and change a little...

I like Polish comedies, maybe because I grew up with them :). One that I really liked was "Chlopaki nie placza", I know it's an old movie, but so funny! Again, typical to Polish culture, but this time in a great, unique way, not sad and depressing.

Overall, I think that Polish cinema produces movies of great value, although not always the greatest technical quality. But the value alwasy wins :). I also like Kieslowski, very deep thoughtful type (not for every kind of mood though).

Hmmm.. do you have any new comedies to recommend?

I recently saw the movie "Vinci" and liked it :) I thought it had a nice combination of the (very much overdone) criminal though intelligently written plot with a nice, (finally) positive, optimistic tone! I saw it as a sign of improvement of the Polish culture - from the pessimistic, passive outlook on life, to a more optimistic and active attitude! Loved it :)

Life / Polish Film World and Poland Movie Reviews [30]

Yes, it's "One week... ". Yeah, depressing movies is what Polish cinema is good at I would have to admit. What did you like about that movie? I thought that Stuhr was completely inadequate to the role he was playing.

Any other polish movies you liked?

Polish directors are very good, or at least we did have some good ones in the past. The actors though are so scarce that the couple there are play in all the movies heheh.
