Law / Lawyer fees for incorporation in Poland [6]

Hey guys, help me not get screwed by excessive fees. How much should I pay a lawyer to:

1. Set up an LLC? Notary quoted 500zl.

2. Help me with temporary residency for business purposes? I'm a non-EU citizen.

3. Review a commercial lease?

Thanks

Life / Is Apple Pay available in Poland? [3]

No.

The first country added after the US was the UK four months ago:

Real Estate / Why are toilets and sinks in Poland always separated by a door? [33]

For example, a small 2 m2 toilet will often be separated by a door from a small 1 m2 room with a sink. Rather than a comfortable 3 m2 space with sink and toilet. I've never seen this in any other country. Why does Poland do this?

Real Estate / Why are toilets and sinks in Poland always separated by a door? [33]

Half the time I use a public toilet I need to wait because somebody else is using the sink and then there's another person coming in trying to squeeze into the toilet. It's a disorganized mess. When a toilet area is so small it should not be shared.

Law / I have recently been scammed in Poland. My company accounts frozen. [58]

Can you provide more detail on what the services were?

You mentioned that you could have got more references... who would you have talked to?

What advice do you have for people before doing business in Poland?

Edit: If you had asked for all correspondence to be physical and electronic, would that have solved this problem?

Merged: Community Question: How was your business scammed?

Hi guys, I just read this post: https://polishforums.com/law/poland-recently-scammed-company-67502/2/

Those who have been scammed: Please give us details so we can hopefully avoid a similar fate.

Also, general advice on how to avoid being scammed is much appreciated!

Real Estate / Price of residential property in Warsaw. What percentage of Polish people are house owners here vs renters? [7]

Take a look back at the last time everybody was posting about property on this forum... around 2007. And then this happened (see chart):

globalpropertyguide.com/Europe/Poland/Price-History

And all comments were talking about how prices would continue to the moon. Be very careful. The problem with your experience is that Canada hasn't experienced a major housing correction. Look at that chart above every day for a month before you invest. Look through this forum to see other peoples experience / life devastation from investing in Polish real estate before the collapse.

Study / Racism in Czestochowa? I'm a black student from France. [14]

Just be careful late at night (say after midnight). Drunk people are looking for fights. They just love to start fights here like I've never seen anywhere else in the world.

You look more unique so you're a more likely target. But if you weren't there they'd just as happily go after a local person.

Study / American wanting to study in Rzeszow [9]

I would recommend finding a Polish teacher living in Poland online. They will surely be cheaper and likely better than an American Polish teacher. If you send me a direct message I can hook you up.

And I think it's a really cool idea. Don't listen to the haters. While your friends back home sink themselves into $50,000+ of debt you will leave university with very little debt and a whole lot more life experience.

Law / Non-EU citizen Temporary Residence: Regular and stable income clause [5]

One of the requirements for getting temporary residency to open a business is "regular and stable income". Since I run my own business I don't pay myself on a regular and stable basis. I have not paid myself anything for more than a year. It appears this is necessary regardless of how much money you have in the bank.

Is there a way to overcome this "regular and stable income" clause?

News / PiS to impose blanket retail tax in Poland [291]

Why is it a good thing to have independent convenience stores? Are people selling Prince Polo's really adding to the economy?

Poland has some of the best education in the world. I hope people here have higher aspirations than to run a grocery store!
