Law / Designing Company from Kiev starting business/ Opening Company in Poland. [3]

Hi I recently registered a company in Krakow, but I need to know it took 7 days to register my NIP number, how many more days does it take for a REGON number?

In answer to sunjotras question - it doesn't cost anything to register as a sole trader if you a resident of the European Union.

If you are not a resident of the European union, you must first register for a Work Visa, then you must apply for an identity card and then you can start a business.

Law / How to register a new business in Poland [129]

I guys I have registered a company in Krakow, I went to the registration office, I have a registered address this was all done 7 days ago, does the one window registration system include a REGON number or did I need to register elsewhere?

As far as I know, registering a company passes all the information to all departments, it just takes time for them to process is this correct?

I am trying to register a .pl domain name, so I can begin trading asap but until such time as my REGON number comes through there is nothing I can do.

Why do you need a REGON number and a NIP Number its all very complicated to me.

In England unless you are a Ltd company I don't think you need more than your Tax Code and National Insurance Number.

This is similar to the NIP Code I understand - but why must every business be registered for more than just tax?

Thanks
Stuart

Law / Where to register a .PL domain name? [33]

I tried to register a .pl through 1and1.pl I have used them many times in the UK, but to register a .pl it asks for a NIP and REGON number why is this?

I have registered a business and now have a NIP number, but I haven't received my REGON number is there any other way to register online?

I don't have a Polish ID Card.

Thanks!

Law / Staying in Schengen - are American exempt from the 90-days-in/90-days-out rule? [23]

I know this American guy living out of Hostels in Krakow, he has no fixed address, no work visa (but is working illegally) is more than 1 month outside his 90 and out (infact on and off he has been in Poland for about 2 years)!

If he goes to Ukraine, is he likely to be banned from re-entering Shengen area or are they likely to just let him back in anyway?

Law / How to register a new business in Poland [129]

Well I am new to Poland, and I am learning, I met a friend whom needed a job whilst I was on holiday, and I had been looking to expand my UK Business into Europe, so I went to bank and sought there advice, I have a contact in the Registration Office in Poland and she said she will help me because she doesn't get many English people starting business in Poland and is very grateful that I will pay tax in Poland and prop up her pension and even better I will employ somebody and they too will pay tax in Poland and prop up her pension.

I will also seek the services of a book keeper who will understand the rules much better than me.

I only wondered who long it should usually take for a REGON number because you can't even register a domain without it.

I don't recall registering a domain in england requiring a national insurance number or tax code!

They need to simplify the registration system on domains..

The Business will be a web based business selling computer software mainly advertising through Gumtree and Tablica, selling via its own website (when I can register it) and getting paid via PayPal.pl as far as I can see its no different to running the business in the UK what else do I need to know?

Law / How to register a new business in Poland [129]

Is CEIDG the tax office or is that a different office? In Krakow I think they were in the same building but on different floors, but I have Polish speaking staff who are working with me, and when required will go to the Tax Office with me. I am not just looking to employ a book keeper on the minimum wage who fresh out of school, I will employ a proper accountant who knows what he is doing.

Can you tell me what is the ceiling for Polish VAT? The bank account I am going to open has a limit of 150,000 Zlottys how close is that to the threshold?

I don't expect the business to turn over much more than 10-20,000 Zlotty in the first year. If it sells more than that all well and good, but be advised this is a Small Enterprise to start with.

Figures are based on UK Sales.

Thank you for all your advice in all threads Delphiandomine.. I understand I most look like some stupid brit things he can just turn up and start a business in Poland - and perhaps I am, it was a last minute decision to start the business here, but I will learn what I need to learn, and hope that through this forum and also through people I meet I can gain knowledge, information and friends to help me along the way in this learning curve.

Thank you once again.

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people importing a new wave of ancient racism into the UK? [402]

I do feel ashamed that we cannot display the Flag of St George but you have to ask yourself the reason why it was banned? Because the likes of the BNP use it incorrectly, they wave the flag of St George and then go out and target people whom they consider to be imperfect. They are animals and if the Police are powerless to defend our nation from these Animals then we have to manage without our flag. British governments need to look at a few things, why can Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own government but not England? Why can't we make it a rule that you must learn to speak English (and Polish in Poland, French in France etc) before applying for citizenship etc.

I believe British people to be lazy and unfriendly, I walk the streets of the towns and cities of a weekend and feel ashamed of my people.

I agree that not every European Country has the same Multiculturalism that exists in the UK, but we have gone a little too far, we need to adapt our laws so they work both ways, if somebody calls you names because of Race, Colour, Creed etc, they should be dealt with in an equal way as I would if I said such things to them.

As a nation we cannot afford to have translators when you go to any government office or hospital or police station etc, if you don't speak the Language make sure you take somebody with you that does.

As has been pointed out to me in other threads, as I am starting a business in Poland, I need to make sure I have people around me who not only can speak Polish and English but are upto date with Polish legislation be it Civil or Criminal. All that is required is that people adopt an equal stance for the UK. We do this and life will be much better.

Perhaps you could give me the name of your accountant :)

Even if he is in Poznan I would travel for a trustworthy soul and all though you say trust no one, I can see that you post a lot of sensible advice in many different threads and I know you have had to bite your tongue quite a lot and I respect you for that. As you stated I have a steep learning curve ahead, but if the bank limits at the VAT Ceiling than I should at least avoid that fine. If only that one fine.

But the bank should be able to give me advice and so should an accountant.

I notice that you attend multilingual meet and greets in Poznan, would you know if there are any similar events in Krakow? It would be a good place to network with different people, from what I have seen there are many lessons that GB could learn from Poland - not least Credit Card payment for Buses - to me its a no brainer! SMS for a taxi - again no brainer!

I lived in Tbilisi, Georgia for 7 months, and there banking system puts the British System, to shame, but with International SWIFT Transfers at 1 zlotty first impressions of Polish banks are as good as Georgia and much better than British!

I look forward to spending much more time in your country, for the next 9 months or so I will be bouncing back and forth between the two countries but perhaps come the middle of next year I could look to relocate much more permanent.

Now would be time for me to look for Polish language tutor in England.

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people importing a new wave of ancient racism into the UK? [402]

I don't know when I travel I seem to find instant friends all over the world, but I just don't seem to find the same group in England, that's all I am saying, most people I would call a friend basically only come around when they want something. I can invite hundreds of people to a party but nobody turns up. They all have their excuses, maybe for some they are genuine, but most people describe me as a warm and caring person, but lets say a proportion of English girls I know are married to African men, I live in a very Pakistani and Indian area, but the girls do not socialise with English guys, when you ask them how to socialise they simply say they don't.

Perhaps its the area I live in, but I am close to a town centre, and have no interest in going out to clubs and pubs and such because usually they play music I don't like or I don't have money for such things. I would rather find friends to go camping or walking or out door activities with.

Is it wrong to say a proportion of English girls find Ethnic men more attractive, whilst at the same time the remaining English girls are already taken, not interested, or just not appealing?

Is it also wrong to say that Girls of an Ethnic nature in England tend to look more towards their own Ethnic Mix rather than those outside of their Ethnic Mix?

I am trying not to generalise but I just say it how it appears to be to me.

Law / ACN direct selling telecom company in Poland [45]

That's interesting, I have tried Amway, I tried Kleeneze and I tried Betterware - none of them ever had any stock in when I ordered so you can recruit as many people as you like - but if when customers come to order - they are TOS - what's the point anyway..

I wonder how you go about starting a franchise in the first place.

Life / Internet / Telephone provider in Krakow [28]

I ordered Neostrada from Orange over a month ago they told me the telephone line would be fitted within 1 week, and the internet 2 days later.

2 weeks later TP came and fitted the telephone line, 4 weeks later I still have no internet.

There is communal internet in the apartment but its only 2mb/s and shared between 10+ apartments.

Am I within my rights to cancel the contract and switch to UPC for 120mb/s?

Neostrada 20mb or UPC 120mb i was badly advised on what broadband to take and my apartment is on Straszewskiego?

I just tried to order UPC online butUnfortunately, UPC services are not available at the address:
Krakow, Straszewskiego 9!!! so frustrating.. Do I have to stick with neostrada after all and only 20mb?
