Love / Polish boyfriend coming to visit [52]

Maybe try to ask him? If it is going to be your first meeting then you must be talking about it a lot with details. And a kiss on the cheek and a hug is nothing wrong if you both feel like doing it.

Genealogy / Is the Surname Yang Polish? [14]

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang_%28surname%29

Some people need to learn to look for information on themselves!

If you want to use Internet reasonably you need to have some knowledge, copy-paste is not enough.

Yang looks like Jewish surname, not Polish for sure. I found Jang, maybe it is the same version but misspelled?

UK, Ireland / Let's discuss Polish and British, only constructive (though we will digress) [60]

I am British I am JIEB qualified

I Couldn't give 2 sh*ts what you are matey boy, I have earned what I have, I am qualified in what I am,,,,and you are the one wanting "to talk some more", and saying we are uneducated, so therefore, why bring an argument on yourself, if you can't back it up correctly apart from your sarcastic comment above??

Actually he only repeated what u said in the first post but changed Poles to Brits. There was nothing about whole nation being uneducated, just stating the fact that in every nation (so British too as well as Polish) there are some nice people and those as u call them "scumbags".

I know some British and they are wasters, but I also know some that are hard working, and are trying to integrate....

What about all the scumbags here then??

Well, nothing, i guess. What should be about them. Perhaps they should be deported as it is being done in Australia when someone commit a crime.

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

Each to their own, but yes, dziwka

How do you know? are you mind reader?

I don't think any self-respecting young man will want to date her after she becomes a widow though

We can see clearly from all posts here that most of men (here? everywhere?) are narrow minded and they cant think out of the box. You never know what is in people's hearts and in mind's and supposing that you know coz it doesnt fit into ur scheme of life is just pathetic.

At least u have something to feel better urself about.

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

Do you find 85-year old men tasty, shush? Do you think many young women do? Would you trade your partner for one?

It doesnt matter what i prefer, i did not go with 85 years old man but I can understand that some people may like something what i dont. And judging them on the basis that i dont like something or i would not go for something is just pathetic, dont u think?

The guy isnt a child, he knows what he was doing, so let them be. Maybe they are more happy than many so called "proper marriages" when there arent big age difference.

Seriously, if all the girls were going to be as stupid as she is

Maybe you are the stupid one when you judge people u dont even know?

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

I can, but we all know this is about money

Again, are u mind reader? How do u know? You dont even know those people.

You can't tell me this is natural

He is still a human being even if older than her. What's unnatural in being with a man?

You can't tell me that this girl can honestly expect to be with this guy for years

IF he was 30 years old how could she expect him to be with him for another 50 years? there are accidents etc If you were in love with a girl and she was sick and about to die, would u not want to be with her coz she will die soon anyway?

a young girl who's marrying an old man who might die tomorrow, that's pathetic

Read above, there was recently a case when a guy got married with a woman who was dying from cancer. She was Big Brother winner or something. So they are pathetic?

This is how badly the law is framed, giving women entitlement to things they haven't worked for or deserve.

This works in both ways - men have rights to women's wealth as well.

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

Who is Mind Reader?

Someone who thinks that knows whats going on in other people's mind, clear?

How many young men do you see with very old women? Can you name me a case?

Joan Collins, Elizabeth Tylor to name just the two cases u for sure heard about.

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

And where does he live, this Mind Reader fella? ;) ;)

Unfortunately in your head :P

How many people you know go for OAPs?

I dont know what's OAP.

It's more common that women go with older guys (i guess in most marriages the guy is older than his wife) but it has nothing to do with money. But of course, men jump to the conclusion that those women are "dziwki" (i wonder if that was the first word what u learnt in polish). If a guy did the same he would be a hero...

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

No, because that's different. Anything could happen, and nothing is certain, we all know that.

Well, not really, when they were going to marry they already knew she was dying of cancer.

How and where do you think she met this man?

He was her tutor at university.

The fact that there are plenty of handsome, nice looking, well-mannered, honest, d

It doesnt change the fact that if she loves him she would not want to be with anyone else regardless his age and position. I see your point but why it is always woman's fault? She may be genuinely in love with him, there are lots of cases when girls fall in love with their teachers, more if the girl had bad relationship with the father so why always it is woman who is bad and nasty, i just dont get it.

I'm not going to marry someone who could've been my grandmother for money anyway

It would be funny if u met someone much older than u and fall in love with her lol Never say never :P I m not talking about marrying for money though.

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

Can you show me where it says that she is dying of cancer? And even if she is dying of cancer, there are many young guys who are dying of cancer aswell, and they're probably more attractive and active than this old man.

I was not talking about the Lapicki's wife dying of cancer. It was my other example when i was sayin that sometimes people marry even if they know they wont be together for long. The argument that people should not be together if they know one of them will die soon is not convincing, thats all.

Well, why is it that these old guys always are wealthy then?

I dont know why - maybe one of reasons is that if you have money you can socialize and then u can meet more different people, even younger than urself?

Oh, and where did I say it's always the woman's fault?

You were not saying it's woman's fault but Seanus was, he even called her "dziwka".

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

Being rich doesn't mean you can buy reincarnation ;)

Yes but not everyone is that wise to fall in love only in suitable persons. I dont think he is that rich and marrying him she lost a lot - perhaps friends and family who now will think she is a dziwka. So altogether i think there had to be something more to that than just money.

But i find it sad that people always think a person is worthless if she or he did something different. That's all.

Love / Church of England - Catholic Marriage in Poland. [23]

The CoE doesnt need to be baptised. It is possible to get married even with atheist, muslism etc (from the catholic church point of view). I think the only one requirement is for the other person to agree to respect the person's religion. Some time ago also the partner had to agree for the children to be raised in the catholic faith but i think it changed some years ago. Well, at the end of the day it depends on the particular priest but the general guidance are as above.

Remember, you need the dispensation from the relevant Bishop

Yes, that's true but I think the problem is a priest really and not a bishop. Bishops i guess know the law but priests do as they please most of the time.

Language / Calling a person a 'potato' (ziemniak/kartofel/burak) [37]

I've lived in Poland my whole life and I've never heard of it from anyone except for one newspaper. It's definitely not common.

Yes, I have not heard it either. "Burak" is common and known in every part of Poland and the meaning is deragatory as it was already said.

once you spoke she realized what simpleton you are and would have nothing more to do with you

That's a bit harsh :P

But i agree that he jumped to conclusion too fast - he was in Poland after all and it is weird to expect everyone there will speak English.

been all over the world and most of the time you can still have a conversaion even if you speak a in a language you both know a little of

If you know language just a little then i dont see much point unless u really are into someone's appearance.
