Travel / Tri-city travel (want to see Gdansk and Sopot) [10]

I'm going to be staying in Gdynia for one week, as of the 15/08. I have accommodation and a car organised, and want to also see Gdansk and Sopot. So what is there to do and see (apart from the seaside). I'm more into architecture, museums, etc and going to restaurants at night.

Also, what to pack? anyone know what the temperatures are likely to be?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your help- particularly the hint about taking the SKM! And the person I'll be staying wth likes jazz and going to concerts in general, so that's one for the diary too.

And Scottie- i may see you at Abs :)

Food / Traditional Polish meal for my Polish boyfriend in the US? [71]

It's a bit of a cheat, but you could do what I did for my Polish gf: Pop along to the Polish section in the local Tesco and get some ready made pierogi, etc- then tell them you spent all day in the kitchen preparing it ;)

Love / Maintenance for child born between Irish/Polish parents. [60]

Inka, if you are facing hard times, your first port of call should be your local Citizens Information Centre, they have legal experts there who will advise you on legal aid, your entitlements etc. It won't cost you anything to see them, and they will point you in the right direction.

And, as other people have said here, you are entitled to a lot more than 20 euros per week!

Harry: Stop thinking about yourself: start thinking about your son..

Agrees - the baby may only be costing a little in milk, nappies, etc right now - but what about later on? School, medical treatment, clothes, etc, etc. Stake your claim now and stick to it. This man has responsibilities and needs to be made aware of them.

UK, Ireland / Ive been in the UK for 6 days to relocate and im going back to Poland. [281]

I agree with WB, Britain has gone to the dogs, I used to be quite nostalgic for the place, not having lived or worked there for many years, but a month long stay last year quickly shattered my illusions. As WB said , it's full of foreigners (and I don't mean the Polish, they are a welcome addition to the population), it's overcrowded, rundown, and generally has a delapidated, seedy air about it. I don't miss it one bit.

I also used to be centrist-left but I'm centrist-right now. Britain is full of ungrateful spongers and it's important to know that

Agreed, I've gone from far-left to middling right - and it's hardly surprising that so many immigrants come to the UK to do the jobs that the British won't do. From what I can see, the natives would rather sit at home watching crappy daytime TV (or crappy anytime TV for that matter), eating junk, swigging cheap alcohol, claiming benefits and at the same time complain that the Poles have taken all the jobs.

It depresses me to visit the place now, but hopefully I shall never have to set foot there again.

I will wager you have never ever set foot here. Another troll with more than one PF ID.

Wrong and wrong again. As an Englishman I have a right to criticise my country and the awful place it has become. Sorry if you can't handle that. Best get over it and back on topic.

And, for the record, expressing an honest opinion is not trolling.

P.S: Can you inbox me to let me know how much you will wager and by what means you will pay me?
