Work / Salary for Teaching EFL in Krakow [120]

Hi there,

Would appreciate any advice on the following:

I have been offered a job teaching English as a foreign language at a private language school. I have my CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and previous experience at summer schools in England.

They offer a salary of 50,00 PLN net (after tax) per teaching block (i.e. 80 minutes). Guaranteed monthly net income amounts to approximately 3,000 PLN.

Is 3,000 pln enough to live reasonbly comfortably on in Krakow?

(unfortunately the hours are from 3:20pm to 9:30pm so it's unlikely I'll be able to take on many (or any) private lessons, if it comes to that).

Another school has offered me 2,500 PLN per month for 25 hours work, so I assume that 3,000 is good?[/quote]

turtleonfire, was you set on fire when offerd this job,If not watch it you might get mugged during your lessons, Go to the UK you will earn more

Missing Agnieshka Marciniak seen leaving the hospital
Police are trying to trace a Polish woman last seen leaving the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on Saturday who had given birth earlier in the day.

Agnieshka Marciniak, 32, who had recently arrived from Poland, told medics she would return.

She had given birth to a girl and left the hospital pledging to come back when she had collected personal belongings.

Police said they were "extremely concerned" for her welfare and wanted to reunite Ms Marciniak with her baby.

Ms Marciniak has friends in the Lakenham and Tuckswood area of Norwich.

Det Insp Matt Sharman said: "We are concerned for Agnieshka's whereabouts and are working with our colleagues in children's services to try and locate her.

"Our aim is to reunite Agnieszka with her baby who is fit and well.

"I am also appealing to Agnieszka to return and see her baby. I would stress that she is not in trouble and can return without fear that she will be arrested."

andrewwright:By the way, I've heard on the grapevine that there's driving jobs going if you've got an HGV licence. You'll have to spend up to 6 weeks away from home, but that's no issue for a hard working Brit like yourself, is it?

Looking at doing HGV this year back in good old UK(unless i can do it in Poland,a person of your knowledge might know if i can take it here)And spending time from home! Well i have done for the last 5 years so no probs,Its nice to see your thinking about me :-X

Life / Do you really have to pay for your dogs to live in Poland [15]

What does having a 4x4 and a big house got to do with the requirement to have a dog licence?

I didnt say a dog licence has any to do with a 4x4 and big house,Its just the person(So called Mayor of Siemiany)has these 2,Comes Asking for this money,no reciept would be given,No proof off where the money is going,The village is a **** hole but he cant be asked to get it cleaned up,But will always find time to drive out of his way to knock on the doors wanting money, By the way we have a 4x4 a big house a van, car, tractor loads of land and buildings,so its not im jealous, just pd of give people money in this country and seeing nothing back,
