Law / DELL shifting ops from Ire to PL [30]

they would be better living on benefits in IE.

Im not too sure that the workers will feel the same. Most will probabaly have to sell their homes etc now. Maybe they would be better off moving to work with Dell in Poland.

There's a reason why they are moving production to PL

I dont know the full story but I heard that there is an investigation taking place into an alleged pay off to Dell from Polish Governement. I dont know how true this is.

My accounting lecuturer was also an accountant for Dell, 3 years ago he went to Poland to do some work over there. At that time Polish workers were being paid 4 times less than Irish workers but I guess its all relative, its probabaly costs 4 times as much to live in Ireland.

Love / What do Polish guys think of Irish girls? [187]

When i think about a irish girl. I think about a red haired medium seized girl with that retarded irish accent.

Imagination???? I can only assume that your imagination equals your intelligence...not good.

Actually, the Irish just feel sorry for themselves - if they bothered to make an effort with their appearance and stopped blaming others for their own problems - they would be a lot happier.

What a load of sh*t
The people I know are intelligent, confident and successful - we dont need to feel sorry for ourselves, we are more than happy :) as for apperance - I dont know where you are looking.

I have one name for you Vicky Pollard!

I have not come across a Polish guy with an Irish girl

Im still in Ireland, but I have a Polish boyfriend.

how come ?

just mean if an assumption is made in a sterotypical way about Irish girls appearance, then if you were to sterotype an english girl would vicky pollard be an adequate comparison?? the answer is no but I was just trying to make a point...

I dont even know why I bothered to respond to the comment as I hate this kind of sh*t!!!
Im just in a bad mood today :/

says belfast

yes but Belfast is part of Britian. Some people from Belfast consider themselves Irish but I assumed by her comment that she does not.

Life / Tattoos and Popular culture in Poland [51]

Just wondering in general what are your views on tattoos.

Today at work we were talking about tattoos, one guy said he would like one etc... when he left the office someone said "Oh he doesn't fit the stereotype of someone who would like a tattoo" So I asked her what kind of person would have a tattoo - her answer was someone dirty, rough and trouble. I then told her I have three ( I am her boss and far from any of her descriptions) - her reaction was priceless!!

I really dont think she fell asleep. how could you?? It's far different to having a relaxing massage! It's more likely that she regretted her decision.

Work / Advice on Teaching English in Poland [709]

I have been reading some other forums (oops) and I am begining to wonder if I have been foolish and naive. I was happy enough with the pay I was offered as I am an inexperienced teacher. I want to develop and gain experience so I also considered this when I was making my decision. Judging by the comments I have read (elsewhere, not on this forum) I am considered to be driving down prices by accepting this pay. I have to admit that pay is not a hugh worry for me as I will have income from another source also but this does not mean I want to or am willing to work for less that is appropriate.

As an inexperienced teacher what sort of wage is acceptable?

The school is in Bydgoszcz. Oh good, that seems to be ok. Thanks. Sometimes I think it's a bad idea to read too much.

Life / Do expats living in Poland speak Polish? [233]

well I'm going to try, but it will be very basic! :)

I practice with my friends here but sometimes they just look at me like I have two heads :) Guess you have to be prepared to sound stupid a lot of times :)
