Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Tyskie is quite strong and is quite popular in Poland (especially that it has good PR campaign - it's a sponsor of Wisla Krakow and other sports teams).

Language / Windows XP Polish Font help needed [25]

In Polish "Polish fonts" is "Polskie fonty" (fonts is fonty). You may go to google and enter it to find some sites (mostly in Polish though).

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

I drink a lot of less in the US than when I'm in Poland (here one glass of wine or 2 shots of vodka a week; in Poland 3-4 times as much).

Travel / Coming to Poland with a pet :) [47]

@krysia
What's your opinion on dobermans? I've heard they were actually "made" from GS genes and have many similar traits.

Travel / Coming to Poland with a pet :) [47]

I was talking to a guy who used to live in the Warsaw area. He said he would go for jogging near the Wisla river with a baseball bat in case stray dogs attack him.

-- but it was about 10 years ago --

Life / Are Polish people open to others? [20]

Generally Poles are open to other people (especially to strangers as they aren't usually very friendly towards their Polish neighbours). So if a stranger needs help, Pole is open - but if a friend or neighbour needs help, it's not always the case.

Genealogy / Is tallness common among Polish people? [201]

Some of these questions should be very obvious. Poles are not from another planet. What do they teach in school nowadays - not history, sociology, or geography for sure.

Genealogy / Is tallness common among Polish people? [201]

Such questions create even more silly stereotypes about Poles in general. How can one answer such a general question like "are Poles tall?". How would one answer the question "Are Poles fat"? It's all subjective opinion and the answer should be: "It depends - some of them are, some are not."

Law / Tax in Poland? [57]

Not sure about the exact numbers, but they are high... Too high - especially for businesses in Poland.

USA, Canada / Can Polish citizens with US greencard travel to Canada? [63]

When I had US greencard I was a couple of times in Canada. So this could be confirmed without calling the authorities. You just cannot stay there over 1 year (otherwise, your greencard will be revoked).

Love / the strange polish girl who broke my heart [30]

Frankly, it is shocking to me that you are 23 and have never got drunk? If you want to socialize and meet new people, you need to have a drink or two - especially at your age.

Love / the strange polish girl who broke my heart [30]

Polish women are not like that.

Who's telling the truth then? Maybe the girl wasn't Polish after all.. Hmm..

Language / Polish Past Tense [47]

Yes, I have proof that they are not right. Does that answer your question?

I should have remembered most Poles are experts in criticizing anything that's possible to criticize, but not to create anything useful in return...

You can read books about Poland and Polish people in a library too and meet Polish people in a cafe :). No need to get online.

Life / Prices of cars in Poland? [88]

I hear people bring more and more cars from the US now rather than other EU countries; in the US cars are inexpensive compared to Poland/EU.

Unless the car is very expensive, I don't think you'll save any money buying it in Germany or UK...

Love / Why are Polish women so sexy ? [390]

I think most students go to Krakow.

It's another stereotype. Wroclaw is one of the oldest cities with university background. I'm pretty sure there are no more universities in Krakow than in Wroclaw.

NOTE- about 1/3 could be part-time students who don't even live in Wroclaw; just go there for the weekend to study.

Law / Tax in Poland? [57]

How much will I get net for a 9500 PLN salary (After Taxes and ZUS)?

I think your employer pays ZUS, not employee. I think you should get about 7000 PLN after taxes only.

Polonia / Any polish man/woman like to visit Bangladesh? [14]

Could you tell us more about Bangladesh? I'm sure most people don't know facts, just stereotypes about your country. What is the standard of living there? Is it safe to travel through Bangladesh?
