Food / Flour / Wheat in Poland [8]
I would like to buy whole wheat flour for making bread here in Kraków, but I am not sure which type to choose from the store shelf. I understand Graham, but there are several varieties at my local Tesco about which I have no clue. Here are the names:
Góralski Ciemny
Litewski
Niedzicki
Pieniński
Sądecki
Can anyone help me with descriptions or English translations? Are any of these considered whole wheat?
Also, can anyone explain the "Typ" that is listed on each package of flour? I see Typ 500, 550, etc., but have no idea what this means. Thanks!
