Love / Polish men's pride! [23]

Sarah, what was it that he did?

as for pride, every man has it, depends on the argument, or situation.
but , in any case, man or woman it is always good to be one up and and be the better
person! :)

ok, let me refrase that.

as I asked what he did, he argued with his boss. well, it depends on what it was he
argued about, because if he was right, then it should be the boss apologizing.

I know money dont grow on trees, but I would never work for a cut throat employer!
and hopefully I never find out I am.. lol

Life / Child Adoption in Poland? [138]

doctors in the US are more advanced in medicine than in Poland.

That makes sense, if I had the money to adopt I would get least two more children
boys, cause I have two girls. I already have a child with a metabolic disorder. she
looks normal, but alot happens without proper medical attention.

wanted to ask to, can someone look up Trifunctional Protein defiency in Poland?
I want to know if there are any children with this same metabolic disorder there
as well. my daughter is number 15 in the world, but I dont know where all the others
are from, only maybe two that I have spoke with.

Love / Why do Polish women prefer foreigners for boyfriends and husbands? [418]

personally i have several reason :-

Bunch of garbage, any man can be all of this, or turn out to be just the opposite.

just like any woman can be all of this or just the opp.

your describing alcoholics- any man can be a drinker, not take a shower for days and
reek . its called choices, we make our own choices.

if you choose the wrong path, then yeah, later on it will bite you in the arse.
but sorry, dont agree with this I have to knock down polish men crap.

there are plenty of them on here who are sucessful and very well mannered and
have morals, so your assumption is really kinda off the wall.

but narrowminded -quit wastin the threads post more intelligent conversations please.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

would really say that Polish people love to drink-well most of them(many of you are probably thinking"no s*it") But does anyone here have family who have problems with alcohol?

my two brothers drink, one alot, one sorta mellow, but gets happy drunk.

Ive heard this is more a genetic issue, Rather then Nationality.

Drinking in Moderation is fine. my brother will probably die soon, his liver is
probably looking like a marshmellow from all the wisky, I love him dearly, but
this isnt genetic, its mentally challenging to stop, especially since his body now
needs it. will probably send him into heart failure.

so dammed if you do and dammed if you dont.
sorry to have dismantled this post, but its not Polish that just drink, its all nations
and it isnt genetic, no one forces that bottle to your lips. but once your body needs
it, your stuck forever.
as far as drinking the stuff strait, I dont know how anyone can drink it strait and
not know that it can do something to your liver.
People who have liver failure , in the end stages BLEED OUT>

meaning it comes out of every hole in your body. and there is nothing any doctor
god or anyone can do for you. you blood drains from your body.

I drink to, maybe once every 6 months, sorry to have such a crappy feeling towards it
but, watching people I love around me die , well, nuff said.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

Patrycja,

You can't do much about it.Alcoholics are like drug addicts if they don't decide that they are ready to change noone can do it for them.

u r right, I wish my brother would just stop, hes the most coolest brother in the world
helps me in so many ways, he still works, isnt a menace to society, like always in the
hospital, he works hard, he just likes his drinks, but he has driven and lost his license
and think has a temp one. before my mom died, when she was getting sicker, with cancer
he had went to jail for the DUI which was his third.

he served his time, came home on mothers day, my mom said that was the best
mothers day gift she ever had, and we all sat together and had nice dinner, she
was very proud of him.

when she died, he signed the papers (no cpr) which is what I was going to do, knowing
that might send him back to drinking, the nurse brought the paper to him, after
that he felt as though it was his fault, so he turned back to the bottle.

but he stayed sober till she passed and after wards for about six months, it was
eating at him.

I know what you say is true, because he has done it. and its weakness for all who
become addicted, something sends them back to it.

she
was very proud of him.

for quitting that is. he said he was sorry to her for making things hard for her.
we all had a good cry, hugs. just alot of support.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

i hope your family members recover.........

I just want him to stop, but he wont listen till something happens, which now he
dont drive at all while drinking (smart) but he still drinks till he passes out.

hes good brother, great uncle to my children (spoils emm rotten) he works good
he cooks, he saves his money, so its not like hes ruined his life material wise. its
his body, hes just tearing it up, and its hard for me because I see it all the time
where I work.

Yes, Moderation is better then bingeing, <~Ive seen Pts come in and they stopped
breathing, their heart couldnt take it, their body gave in to it.

one of my best friends fathers choked on his vomit after drinking all night.

it is very sad.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

but there's more than enough evidence to show that if one member of a family is an alcoholic, then the potential for other family members to be alcoholic increase dramatically, compared to someone who has no history of alcoholism in their family. It's like many other diseases--

I used to drink every day of the week, then stopped. havent done it since, I had no
symptoms of wanting it again, even on the days that I didnt drink, no shakes, no
nothing, my dad drank, mom drank, my mom was alcoholic, but, once someone told
my dad, well stop drinking or you will have another stroke, he did. same with smoking

my mom, she could drink every day, then stop for a week, then drink two days, stop
drink again, then go a month without it, but she would get so belligerent when she
did drink, my dad was quite, he would just sit and drink, no loudness, no anger, just
worked in the garage, but he drank like my brother as he was younger, and many
nights come home penniless.

my whole family minus my sister, <~she drank too, but moderately, then once in while.
so , you see, there was plenty to blame it on, but, the real blame is within the person!

I dont drink, maybe once every six months, one small drink, then I am done, it dont
make me want it more, when I was out Partying when I was in my 20's yes, it was the
cool thing to do. but never had any shakes, and I see plenty of women who are
alcoholics come thru my hospital, yes, they say proof that it is a gene, but
what did they blame it on back when the cavemen were here? after all, the cavemen
didnt drink, but yet, they are part of our history if we want to use genes?

Maybe they smoked dinosaur poop! lol that is why we are all messed up.

Tetrahydrolsoquinoline (THIQ). Moderate or social drinkers don't produce this chemical which is why they can stop when they want to. Once produced in the brain, it's there forever.

yes, I drank, I went out to bars, nightly, and no, didnt do it to me, so this theory
might be right in some ways, but, I dont buy it.

science has been proven wrong before many times, this is a temp fix till they find the
real truth, but I am living proof that the chemical described is not the reason, least
my opinion , and I am sure there are many more like me.

put it this way, with the money I spent in bars, I should own one.
I dont doubt, that chemical is not produced, but I dont believe in that gene theory
at all.

Ps, I started going to bars to meet guys when I was young, I hated beer, and it took
me a long time to actually choke down mixed drinks when I started trying them.

like I said, cavemen didnt drink, Hey, who knows when the first alcohol beverage was
created??

Is alcoholism inherited?

Research shows that the risk for developing alcoholism does indeed run in families. The genes a person inherits partially explain this pattern, but lifestyle is also a factor. Currently, researchers are working to discover the actual genes that put people at risk for alcoholism. Your friends, the amount of stress in your life, and how readily available alcohol is also are factors that may increase your risk for alcoholism.

But remember: Risk is not destiny. Just because alcoholism tends to run in families doesn't mean that a child of an alcoholic parent will automatically become an alcoholic too. Some people develop alcoholism even though no one in their family has a drinking problem. By the same token, not all children of alcoholic families get into trouble with alcohol. Knowing you are at risk is important, though, because then you can take steps to protect yourself from developing problems with alcohol. (See also "Publications," A Family History of Alcoholism - Are You at Risk?; Alcohol Alert No. 18: The Genetics of Alcoholism.)

All of the above, contradict each other.

The genes a person inherits partially explain this pattern, but lifestyle is also a factor.

then it says BUT:

Risk is not destiny. Just because alcoholism tends to run in families doesn't mean that a child of an alcoholic parent will automatically become an alcoholic too. Some people develop alcoholism even though no one in their family has a drinking problem

Sorry, but Again, I say, science can be wrong, "WHICH GENE?"

I do believe it is a disease. but not a gene.
Nor will I buy that story ever.

but, I do Question Science when they will find the gene that makes us smoke
cigerettes also. I will definately give up on emm then.

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

The Alcoholics studied had not been using heroin so how did the THIQ get there.

ok

so what your saying is I should believe it because they said these guys who were
winos and picked up on the street , and they were homeless winos, how do you
know that they didnt have heroin, they were homeless, I doubt they had much of
a medical history , and even so, most Druggies dont tell the truth till they get tested
for it.

I am sure if someone was desperate enough to get heroin, they would do what
ever it was to get it, homeless or not that is a powerful drug.

another thing that raises questions for me is the fact that they called them wino's
that dont sound like a professional scientists words. if you know what I mean.

Researchers, using animals, have yet to identify a single gene responsible for any alcohol-related behavior.

found this in some research I was looking at about this,

alcoholism.about.com/cs/alerts/l/blnaa18.htm

so lets shoot animals up with alcohol and tell everyone that its a frickin gene in
humans that is hereditary.. yeah thats it!

they dont know, so it isnt fact, there is suggestion, but not proven.
but hey shooting innocent non alcoholic animals up with thiq to see if its true.

hmmm thats science for ya.

but this gives ,me an idea, I think I will advocate with the animal cruelty groups
on this one, cause it seems pretty pathetic that this occurs just so they can prove
a gene exists in humans that leads to alcoholism.

You may have abused alcohol when you were younger, but alcohol abuse does not equal alcoholism.

I have all the genetic makeup, mom dad both drank, older brother, younger
brother, grandfathers (both) grandmother 1 before that I dont know, I drank
for 12 years, never had shakes, nothing, no side affects, and

my head might be thiq (LOL) but no poison in it.

anyway, I dont mean to sound so stubborn, I just wont buy the genome project
as the reason for lifestyles.

what about marjuanna? Nicotine? cocaine? are all these part of that project?

so we are all really made up of drugs and not flesh?

its hard for me to grasp that concept, not that I dont believe alcohol dont
produce chemicals that cause us to become one, but that our genetic make
up is a part of it.

yes if you grow up in a home with alcoholics, the risks are higher.
I am sure children with adhd and add and bipolar are also born from
alcoholic parents, that I would believe that it altered their chemicals during
pregnancy, I am not closed to that, but the gene theory and the shooting up
animals <~really convinced me that its another excuse .

for all my life, I believed that Pluto was a planet, taught this in school, then
science came along and bursted my bubble! its not a planet after all!
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lol

they should focus on a cure, what makes the brain to stop wanting it.
so they can recover.

Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

no its not rubbish, People steal, its not limited to anyone either.

I work in a hospital, we put our lunches in the refrigerator expecting to see them
when we get to have lunch, come back and someone has either taken a bite out
of a sandwich or stole the whole lunch! Money taken from coats, and out of bags
and whatever else, there have even been coats taken. How ballsy is that?

we all decided to get a small camera to put in our break room and also put up
a sign that this room is being watched, since then it has stopped, but it can
happen again, and we think we know who it is, just catching them in the process!

No it isnt rubbish, it could be your neighbor for all you know.

the one thing that really gets me is when people say how Christian they are
and you watch them do it . that makes me so mad, anyone who says I am
close to god and steals must have got their morals mixed up.

I lock up everything, I pay way to much to just give trust away.
its just the way things are, you have to keep what you have, cause there might
be someone out there who wants what you have and will do anything to get it.

Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

obviously I ate the candy and put the ex-lax in the candy wrapper and
placed it in the fridge.

we all had thought of this, we think making a nice piece of choc cake with
ex lax chips on the top :)

its unfortunate that people do this, if someone was to say or ask me, hey do you
have some extra, i would willingly share with no re-payment.

its the constant stealing. so far, its stopped, maybe the sign that says you
will be punished, and possibly lose your job worked!

for a short time anyway, till they think that no one is watching again .

I have to work today, Im buying lunch there. hopefully they have something
worth eating.

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

well, yes freedom and independence are important, but do all Polish women want to the mirror image of all things USA?

Frank, Poland is moving towards a New light. women still nuture men because
at times they require this , and play the role of oh poor poor sick me. lol

getting back to the point, here in the US , theres not many women who dont work
and have a career and attempt to do all these needed chores which are
exhausting after long hours at work. Physically, most women can do them, mentally
its frustrating to be the only one doing them when there is perfectly able
bodies adults who can pick up after themselfs and help out when needed.

generations change, it dont mean the values arent there, when a man says
your my princess, does he mean cinderella? do all the house work, and find
the time to get yourself all pretty for the ball?

we do what we can to keep the whole process going, but in all fairness, is this
a fair way for men to think , when women have to in this day and age have to
also work along side her husband and keep up the bills and have the housework
label branded on her, cook, take care of the kids etc.

when men who think this is the only way understand that they need a quick
reality check because this is how we become weary and fed up and say
goodbye and toss in the towel, then divorce rates might go down.

Women are taken advantage of just because of the label "homemaker"
and if you think about it, what kind of life is that for someone who is the
Rock of the family, and keeps it going.

I say ,more power to those in Poland who have gone above and beyond and
made these changes.

no matter what, we will always have those instincts of sensitivity and nuturing
for children and our husbands. its built in like you say.

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

Im not talking culture. its a matter of how much one person can take when
married, children, housework, errands, working outside the home as well.

what are you referring to?

she has her faults too.... trusting an irresponsible man

and she is the one who didnt leave the child, and is working to take care of this
child, many do it here, just like they would in a real family the only difference is
its minus 1 person who was supposed to be there, but decided to leave.

and that dont make her at fault in anyway if she is the more responsible one
who did take on this child and didnt leave like a coward like the husband did
and she is the one who feeds , clothes, supports , nutures, in every way possible.

my opinion REMAINS THE SAME.

I can respect that your opinion is one which seems to lean more towards the
old fashioned, but, europe is changing more and more everyday.

your opinions, and views are very strait, and I am sure you have many women
knocking your door down , we love hearing those words.

.
I hope that your not the only one in Poland who feels this way.

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

she should have been more sure about him.

I can tell you from experience, and also others , saying that, when you truely think
you know somebody, they change, it happens in real life, to men and women.

your life is going wonderful, then the rug which you stepped on, seems to be pulled
out from under your feet.

alot of women, some married many years, children are half way thru school, the
husband decides he is going thru a mid-life crisis, and wants out of his marriage
and finds a young pretty lady to satisfy this need to be young again?

the woman was so sure that they had the perfect relationship, no signs of
anything wrong, What then?

my Point, you can never ever be sure .

87% polish girls work in sex industry in london...

Explain yourself? what gives on the I hate everyone and everything polish?
do you think that london belongs to you and you only?

thats pretty selfish, self centered. you have ample opps to go and work anywhere
as well as anyone now, so why dont you try it? instead of focusing on so much
hating people you know nothing about.

That's why I feel endeared to the Polish people when I read comments by the likes of Lone Stranger, Patrycia19, Miranda, Globetrotter, Krysia, Frank, Fsiz, Grubionzy and others. I think the new European Union should be based on this mindset. Polish people of this genre should lead the way.

am interested yes! ... but my family in more close knit then generally found in Poland. Maybe because of the fact as stated above by me already.

Awsome, I thought most Polish families kept their family history alive.

Here, its very hard, still alot of people ask me what I did to get to records.

you have to be like a sherlock holms and follow the clues. lol

my hubby won't let me
put too much personal info into cyberspace.

its more foot work KB. trust me I know. then its mail work :) lol

On my hubby's side unfortunately we don't have any info since both his parents have died and they never spoke of their families..sadly my hubby never knew anyone related

Death certs and social security apps are helpers KB :)

because they knew their own parents and they lists parents names :)
