As for Trump well he won the election fair and square but there is still no evidence he is liked anywhere except the US (and even there he is the most unpopular president in history). After the election according to Newsweek only 20 percent of Poles approved of him and only 13 percent preferred him to Hillary Clinton. That is self evident - she was experienced and well known here and for all her faults a comfortable option. Trump is an inexperienced imbecile whose first act in foreign policy was to sack everyone in the State Deoartment who knew what they were doing. Of course he can replace them with unqualified family members so nobody would notice a difference.

In other countries too then he is not popular because he promotes confrontation and chaos and never listens to other points of view.

We are one year on from the Brexit/Trump conceit that they were creating a movement and we can see what a pigs ear has been mad or UK and US politics now that they have to govern the 50 percent of people they insulted. I think they are still struggling for numbers tomorrow - there are only so many pensioners that fancy a six hour round trip on a second hand Dutch bus to hear a fellow 70 something rant about the mainstream media. So I noticed today a few posters hastily put up around Rondo ONZ encouraging people to go and listen an incoherent and lightweight speech that probably will skirt around the question of visa free travel (just as the 3 previous presidents have).

the numbers do not back up your anecdotal opinion - according to a poll last week by the Pew Center only 23 percent of Poles trust Trump to do the right thing for the world. Remarkably similar to the 22 percent that want to leave the EU and the 20 percent that voted for PiS so probably the Venn diagram would have a large overlap.

The comparable number for Obama was 58 percent - not that I am any great fan of Obama. I would far prefer a moderate republican like Romney or Little Marco.

Of the EU countries then none had more than thirty percent trust in the Orange Moron. Hungary came closest with 29 percent. There was one "European" country where Trump gets high support over 50 percent. To give you a clue they drink vodka and eat terrible food.

No parades and no flowers - the reaction of most people in my office is to stay at home and work there because it will be easier than dealing with the closed roads. I dont know why this 15k figure is stuck in your head but you will not earn thar in any profession in Poland until you are in your 30s.

Regarding the legal profession then family connection matter only if you want to be a notary. The judiciary to a certain extent relies on family connections, but more on politics, in private practice however then that is not the case - this is 2017 and if i pay a lot for a lawyer then i want a clever one who is there on merit, not because of family connections. I spend a lot of time with lawyers in meetings ans i dont get the feeling they are only there due to their parents. They are typically smart but dull people who have moved to Warsaw or similar for university from Polska B.

Roughly 50 percent of the top firms are foreign and the rest are Polish but in each case Then if you are seriously interested in that the best way forward is to get an internship and see if you like it.

Well he has not been invited to any other capitals because apart from Szydlo (who is accountable to Jarek and not to voters) then nobody wants to be pictured voluntarily standing next to him. Well first go to college and then see how you feel about your career options. While at college you could try and sort out some internships in Warsaw with various financial companies and that would give you some connections and let you see what the business is like. It is a very good idea to have another language - French is good as there are not many French speaking finance people in Poland. If you take a year out then maybe do something that would build up your language skills - doesn't matter if you are selling ice cream on the beach :)

To get into PE or Investment Banking then what first degree you have is not a big deal but you will need at some point to get either an MBA or some consulting experience or both.

But for gods sake remember to have fun at college when you are young and not obsess about being an investment banker.

That is the salary for a qualified person with 5-6 years of Big 4 experience. What is your background ? And what is your level of French ?because French speaking finance jobs are well paid here.

In Private Equity then no chance without prior experience. Banking is possible but a major shake up in the industry at the moment means there are lots of people on the market.

Accounting or IT project work is possible but you will be looking at 10k not 15k. You might be best off to find some such job and then make yourself indispensable before asking for a raise

Savings are not taxed in Poland. So in this respect he is right. He won't pay tax on the retirement money he brings here if he is an EU citizen. In fact it's probably just as easy to leave most of it in his home country bank.

Any interest or dividends earned will be taxed in Poland at 19 percent at the time they arise. In reality interest is more or less zero in most banks so nothing to get anxious about.

The EU has accepted Britain's letter and told them they are leaving in March 2019. That is a fairly straightforward response to the democratic decision.

If you walked in to a Polish workplace or school then total abstinence like the OP wants would be seen almost as an extreme view. I doubt more than 1 in 20 girls would willingly follow it. I am going there quite often at the moment for work and it is definitely getting better - huge investments in infrastructure, a growing outsourcing business, Piotrowska is coming back to life and I think the population fall has been halted. Quite a lot of the grey blocks have been painted and had some much needed repair jobs. It's a great night out too.
